TOPRA newsletter - January 2025
TOPRA - The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs
Enabling and promoting excellence in the healthcare regulatory profession
Welcome to our first newsletter of 2025, featuring the latest news and developments from TOPRA - The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs. We are the international professional membership organisation for healthcare regulatory affairs, and support career progression and the promotion of excellence across the profession.
Regulatory Rapporteur – January edition available now
The January issue of Regulatory Rapporteur focuses on biologics. Despite the heterogeneity and complexity of biological medicinal products, the innovation of drugs in this area continues. This month’s articles explore some of the recent efforts which include the development of biosimilars, modified traditional biologics (such as multi-site specific antibody-derived fusion proteins), tissue, cell and gene therapies, and an array of pandemic vaccines.
Regulatory Rapporteur is TOPRA’s respected online journal, published 11 times per year and available free to TOPRA members. Non-members can register for complimentary access to one journal article and an additional five views of industry news content every month.

National Apprentice Week 2025
National Apprenticeship Week 2025 takes place between 10 and 16 February 2025 and is a great opportunity to find out more about how our Regulatory Affairs Specialist Apprenticeship can help you and your organisation. It offers an alternative route to becoming a competent and qualified regulatory affairs professional. Employers get trained staff while apprentices gain practical experience and a qualification – it’s a win-win! Look out for posts on our social media channels throughout that week, sharing more information and experiences from some of our past and current apprentices. Our next application deadlines are 12 February for the medicines/advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) apprenticeship and 23 April for the medical devices apprenticeship.
