Top Three Travel Experiences 2021 - My #TTCTop3

As I write this on the eve of Winter Solstice, it is an opportunity to reflect upon the year. I am no stranger to travel, both for work and pleasure, but like everyone have been significantly more restricted this year.

There have been positive outcomes of this, as we have all appreciated, but now I know I'm ready to travel again, and here are the adventures that I have planned.

For the short term at least, we still aren't going to get very far. This year I have developed some new trips for Contiki which travel domestically, this is a new avenue for us as we primarily deal in taking people long haul but it's been awesome to get to know some of our backyards a little better.

The first place I'm off to, after research, reading and inspiration is the Peak District . We have organised this super cool weekend to get you out of town and into the thick of nature.

Then when I can dream again of long haul, I'm dreaming of Africa. I have travelled twice to South Africa and both times it has stayed with me as some of the best travel of my life. This year I want to get to Botswana and Namibia.

This is the trip to the Okavango Delta that I plan to take to soak up more of Southern Africa.

Finally, we have all sacrificed a lot this year, in terms of personal freedom but one thing we all miss is the opportunity to have our family together in one place.

We have missed birthdays, anniversaries etc and so for 2021 I see travel as a way to reconnect.

My mum and I have always travelled a lot together and I hope to get in a trip together next year. I've had my eye on the Part Train/ Part Cruise trip that Uniworld have put together . I know it would cater to both our sense of adventure and exploration and ultimately have some quality time together whilst seeing a new part of Europe. You travel from Venice to Zurich, stopping at Lake Bled, Slovenia and Innsbruck, Austria.
