Top Three Things to Evaluate When Looking to Work for an Artificial Intelligence Start Up
Dr Kai-Fu Lee, one of the world’s most respected experts on artificial intelligence, at a recent lecture was asked the following question:
What are the top three criteria one should evaluate when looking to go to work for an artificial intelligence start up?
Dr. Lee’s answer:
- The company’s ability to sell. The ability for a startup to sell is critical to its success, the best product will not sell itself and the organization needs to be able to compete.
- Know and understand where their data is coming from. Good AI needs to be developed with quality data and you want to make sure you are going to work with a startup that uses high quality data.
- How good is their CEO? The quality of the CEO has a direct connection to likelihood of success or failure for a startup. Look to see who is funding the startup. If you see well known venture capitalists backing the company you most likely can be assured that due diligence has been done on the CEO.
