During my Resume Revolution webinars, I'm always asked "What are the top three changes I should make to my resume?"
First, let's all be honest here. Just three changes, even the top three aren't significant enough to land you a great job in a month.
However, these three chances deliver the greatest impact, giving you a running start to find a great job in Q1 2020:
- Invest More Time Customizing Each Resume: Spending more time customizing each resume for each individual position gives you a better chance of getting through Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Brand Yourself As The Top Candidate: Most candidates fail to even brand themselves as qualified, but you've got to be more than just qualified to even land interviews today. Employers expect to receive 4-5 times more qualified candidates than available interview spots, so they don't have to interview every qualified ones ... just the best ones.
- Forget Responsibilities/Experience, Focus On Impact: Almost nobody does this, yet it's one of the best changes you can make to your resume to find a great job fast. Focusing on responsibilities tells your reader you meet minimum requirements. Why go for the minimum (underselling yourself) when you can instead focus your reader on the impact you've made. Employers seek impact players, not employees who will just do the minimum.
Let me show you even more changes to your resume/job search strategy that will help you find a great job fast in Q1 2020 and how to incorporate them into your search.
I've been teaching job seekers to find their next job fast for over 10 years. I'll show you how to find a great job in Q1 2020 with a resume and job search that understands employers' points of view and syncs with hiring processes.
(BTW, I'm not just a career coach. I've also been a top national recruiter for the last 15 years ... so you'll get advice from an insider's point of view.)
Let me show you what to change in your job search and resume, so you can find a great job in Q1 2020, even if you're over 40 and/or unemployed.
