Top TEN tips for a successful Christmas Party!
We have all been to a Christmas Party, have you ever been the host of one?! I am sure everyone has had that little panic when they have been elected to be in charge of organising! Here is my top tips to avoid the embarrassment of a rubbish party!
- DO NOT HOST IN THE OFFICE! Why would you want to party where you spend most of your life! Boxed wine and sandwich platters might be someone's bag but I am sure your colleagues won't be too pleased! Add some excitement and find a super cool venue with entertainment and some tasty food and drinks!
- INVOLVE THE TEAM! Most of your colleagues will live or socialise in the areas around your office and will have the best knowledge of local venues, involving others will also add to the excitement of the organisation! Their recommendations of tried and tested venues will be SO helpful!
- STICK TO YOUR BUDGET! It is important that you stick to your budget, it is always helpful to divide your budget (with help from your venue) into amounts for food, drinks, entertainment etc!
4. EARLY BIRD, CATCHES THE WORM! Being prepared is the best! You are more likely to get the best dates, space available and possibly an early bird booking offer!
5. WHAT TYPE OF EVENT? Make sure you have a good idea of what kind of event you would like to host, are you after an activity? Drinks and canapes? Or a sit down Christmas meal?! Try to cater for everyone in your workforce- KNOW YOUR COLLEAGUES!
6. MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR VENUE! Make the most of the events team at your venue, we know best how to work the space and make the most of your budget!
7. DEVIL IS IN THE DETAIL! There will always be something that you forget, write down a list of everything you need to prepared, whether it be food, entertainment or arranging flowers for any 'thank you' speeches!
8. TABLE PLAN TROUBLES! Do table plans give you nightmares?! Awkward sit down meals are never good! Ask your colleagues to put themselves in groups of 8 (or however many each table sits!) They will thank you later when they can have a great time with their chosen work pals!
9. TAKE PICTURES! Your Christmas party will be the talking point for the whole year! Reminiscing and looking forward to the next Christmas party! Take loads of pictures to share with your colleagues and look back on!
10. HAVE FUN! Relax and enjoy the event you have planned!
