The Top Ten Podcasts About Coaching
....In my humble opinion, in no particular order:
Well, I said in no particular order, but I'm breaking the rule with this one, because this is my favourite.
Not only is it run by my coach (and friend) Robbie Swale, not only am I part of the incredible community associated with the podcast, (the highest compliment I can pay them is that they are the community I've wanted all my professional life, but didn't know I did!), but the podcast has introduced me to some of the coaches I admire most; led me to choose Barefoot as my coaching school and generally helped convinced me to head towards coaching in a big way that I might otherwise not have done had Robbie not created it.
By the way, if you'd like Robbie to appear on your podcast, he's just coming to the end of his 100 podcasts challenge! I know he is doing well, but sure he'd love to hear from you.
A superb podcast with a stellar line-up of guests, this is probably the second podcast I found after Robbie's above (more than likely he mentioned it). I love that they also have interviews with some of the coaches I find most interesting, like Toku McCree.
The main host is Claire Pedrick MCC. Claire has an approach to coaching that is particularly refreshing for new coaches (and a timely reminder for more experienced ones)- check out her book 'Simplifying Coaching' to learn more.
I need to give a mention to my favourite episode so far where Claire describes her journey on the Camino de Santiago (something I'd love to do myself one day).
The host of this one is Alex Pascal, the CEO of Coaching.com. I find this podcast a valuable addition to the coaching podcast line-up and the work of Alex's company really worth watching too. Note they took over WBECS, which runs fascinating coaching conferences and events online and is well worth checking out.
There are three hosts for this podcast. One is Yannick Jacob, who has a fascinating mind as well as being a content production machine (one of the other podcasts he is involved with is on my 'honourable mention' list below).

I'm in the middle of their (brilliant and head-expanding) coaching course, so I'm bound to like this one. The host is Adam Goodman-Smith. Check out this episode with Kim Morgan, the Founder and CEO of Barefoot and a real inspiration to me.
Ajit Nawalkha has an infectious passion for the art of coaching and the ability it has to help people. He's also extremely impressive in the way he uses the online space to reach out to people. I get the feeling that while he really knows his craft, he has both a gift for and an ambition to provide clarity that will help the maximum number of people. As someone who is also keen to reach a wide audience with the messages I put out into the world, he inspires me.
Marie Quigley MCC is one of the co-hosts. She's one of the few podcast hosts I've actually met in person as she is a fellow Sheffield coach! One of my favourite episode series is where she and fellow host Jeanine Bailey MCC look at the ICF coaching competencies in turn and explain them in an accessible way- here is an example. It really helped me as I try to get to grips with the things that will help make me a better coach.
Phil Goddard was one of my favourite guests on Robbie's (see 1) show. Some of the ways in which he coaches have given me totally new ideas about what I want my coaching practice to look like. He has a depth to his approach but at the same time a feeling of playfulness and adventure that I admire.
Jo Wright, the host, is the Co-Founder of Coaching Culture (which does lots of interesting things including publishing a coaching magazine). I like how some of their podcast episodes are recordings from their conference, it feels like a clever way to use the material.
With honorable mentions for:
Coaching Uncaged by animas, The Coaching Crowd, Talking about Coaching and Psychedelics, plus there are a great deal of others I listen to and enjoy, thanks to everyone who takes the time to share their content and help others!
So my question for you is, of course- who have I missed off? Who deserves to be in the Top 10? Please share any recommendations in the comments below...

1 年As a US-based coach I didn't know many of these - so thank you, Alex, for sharing this list. I look forward to expanding my coaching podcast repertoire. I'd add a couple to the list - Muriel Maignan Wilkins' Coaching Real Leaders podcast and community which offers a 'behind the curtains' listen to a real client coaching conversation and then insight into Muriel navigated the conversation and generally thinks about coaching. I always learn something when I listen. I also enjoy Gary P. Nowak's Coffee House Coaching in which he has a chat with a coach, and in a subsequent episode, chats with the client.
