It is indeed that time of the year!
When we are prepping, planning and pruning.
Prepping for the brand-new year ahead, planning on the 'how's' for the year, and pruning what you don't want to do this year.
One thing I tend to do is to look at social media with a fresh pair of eyes and see who might be worth following or connecting to. That is my exam question for this first part of What Just Happened in Cloud newsletter for January 2023.
So here are my ten for your rapid scroll. Follow away if they make sense to your information needs.
- Walt Mossberg is a senior technology journalist and co-founder of The Verge and Recode. He has been writing about technology for over 40 years and is known for his in-depth reviews and analysis of new launches. Mossberg is also known for his annual conferences on technology and media.
- Ina Fried is the Chief Technology Correspondent at Axios, where she covers the intersection of technology and business. She has over 20 years of experience covering technology and has won numerous awards for her reporting.
- Kara Swisher is the co-founder of Recode and a prominent technology journalist and commentator. She is known for her no-nonsense approach to technology reporting and has interviewed numerous tech industry leaders over the years.
- Ben Thompson - Taiwan-based, Ben is the founder of Stratechery, a popular tech industry strategy analysis website. He is known for his deep insights into the business of technology. If you are like me who likes tech pods, then check out this one that Ben did with the Acquired folks.
- Tom Warren is the Senior Editor at The Verge, where he covers Microsoft, gaming, and other tech topics. Detailed reporting and analysis of the tech industry has led to numerous awards for him.
- Matthew Panzarino is the Editor-in-Chief at TechCrunch, where he covers tech industry news and trends. He has over 15 years of experience in the tech industry, though be warned, he does not seem very active on social media. Bit strange.
- John Koetsier is a contributing editor at VentureBeat, where he covers mobile, IoT, and other emerging technologies. He is also the author of "The Mobile Mind Shift: Engineer Your Business to Win in the Mobile Moment."
- Om Malik is a technology journalist and partner emeritus at True Ventures. He is also the founder of the technology blog Gigaom, where he writes about a variety of topics including startups, AI, and the future of technology.
