Top Super Safety Award Winner: Victoria Durand

Victoria Durand was nominated for the third quarter super award at Ceres because of her dedication to safety. She has been with Ceres since 2021 and currently holds the role of Ship Superintendent in Cape Canaveral, Florida. She has displayed exceptional leadership skills through her performance and consistency in providing guidance and support to the laborers, supervisors, and management on site on and off the docks.

Victoria ensures significant information is effectively communicated by sending weekly labor reports out to the Canaveral team and leadership. These reports focus not only on labor hours required for each ship but also specify the PPE required while referencing OSHA regulations for safety vests and providing visual examples so clear communication is given on what is required. These reports assist in also guiding other ports in communicating with laborers on PPE requirements.

From July to September 2023 there were approximately 145 ships received in Cape Canaveral, of which Victoria contributed to 122 Audit/Inspection reports performed with 589 findings. She also submitted 22 work observations and completed 18 Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) with only four incidents occurring under her supervision.

With her background in the U.S. Navy Reserve and a degree from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Maritime Logistics and Security, Victoria brings a unique set of skills to the company. She is a natural leader and go-getter and will do whatever it takes to keep her team safe.

Victoria has around eight years of experience in the maritime industry with experience as a Deck Cadet at both A.P Moller - Maersk, and Military Sealift Command. She has skills in operational planning, maritime logistics, navigation, transportation, and a variety of leadership skills in the industry. We are pleased to have her as a Ship Superintendent at Ceres Terminals.
