Longstanding Irish pub to expand with new location
The Dublin Pub is officially planning to open its next location in Huber Heights.
A staple of the Oregon District for over 25 years, Dublin Pub now will expand and open its new location on Executive Boulevard near the Rose Music Center. The restaurant will be known as Dublin 7.

Outdoor retailer reveals upcoming opening in downtown Dayton
Base Camp Outdoors Co. (Base Camp Dayton) is plotting its upcoming opening in the Water Street District at 420 E. 1st St. in downtown Dayton. The location, anticipated for opening the last weekend of September, will be the company’s first brick-and-mortar store.
Base Camp Dayton offers camping, hiking and water sports gear as well as apparel, accessories and more. The 5,700-square-foot store is located next to Moeller Brew Barn and across from Day Air Ballpark.

Popular Riverside eatery to close its doors after 41 years
Clancy's Tavern, located at 5514 Burkhardt Road, announced through a Facebook post that it will permanently close its doors later this Fall.
"This decision, though bittersweet, is made with a heart full of gratitude for the friendships we have made over the years," read the social media post.
The eatery's last day of operations will occur on Sep. 14. Until then, Clancy's will continue to operate under normal business hours.

DBJ names 2024 honorees for Leaders in Diversity
The Dayton Business Journal has named the honorees for the 2024 Leaders in Diversity Awards.
The awards recognize organizations that have contributed to harnessing diversity within their workforces and actively taking the lead to promote and champion diversity within the community or their industries.
The awards also honor individuals within the community or for-profit and nonprofit organizations who have shown outstanding initiative to promote diversity and inclusion, either in their organization or community, making a positive difference in others’ lives through contributions to social justice, equality and diversity.

Major project set for former Montgomery County Fairgrounds site
The Dayton region has been tapped as an innovation hub in the state of Ohio. Supported with $35 million in state funding from the Ohio Innovation Hubs Program, the new onMain Innovation Hub will bring together government, academia, and private sector industry partners to make Dayton a global leader in the research and development of digital transformation technologies.
The project also is supported with a local match of at least $23 million and a private sector investment of up to $37 million.

A massive 63-acre development site in Washington Township is looking to shift its site plans for its retail sector, following market shifts in a post-pandemic market.

The Washington Square mixed-use development site sits at the corner of Dayton Lebanon Pike (SR 48) and Social Row Road in Washington Township. Property owners, Miamisburg-based RLG Social Row LTD. And GCG Social Row LTD, look to see modifications in front of incoming development.

Manufacturer works to no longer be 'Springfield's best kept secret'
A local manufacturer is calling itself the “best-kept secret in Springfield."
TAC Industries is hoping its newest upgrades to its manufacturing operations will help the company reveal itself. TAC Industries is part of a larger nonprofit called The Abilities Connection or just TAC.
The company has been providing the U.S. Air Force with cargo nets since 2005, and little has changed in its process. Over the last year, the company has invested in updating its manufacturing line.

Ohio manufacturer to purchase land, invest millions into new facility
Sharonville-based EI Ceramics (EIC) LLC proposed a new facility construction project in the city of Middletown. The project would result in the relocation of up to 70 jobs and an estimated annual payroll over $4 million once fully operational.
EIC, a ceramics refractory company in the metals industry, has approached the city on purchasing the property at 705 Curtis St. to consolidate the company into one location in Middletown.

New coffee shop 'Mug Mafia' in works in Oregon District
The coffee shop will reside at 200 E. Fifth St., where Smokin' Bar-B-Que used to operate, according to city documents. A permit at the Fifth Street address was filed with the city of Dayton recently by Squeeze Me Lemonade LLC.
The LLC name was filed in June of this year with the state of Ohio. The registrant filed the business name Mug Mafia under the LLC, stating the general nature of the business is providing food and entertainment.
A Mug Mafia Facebook page is active and lists its location at the Fifth Street address. The page says the coffee shop will be coming soon, but doesn't have a specific date set yet.

Kettering estate built on Col. Edward Deeds land hits the market for $925,000
The home at 4365 Delco Dell in west Kettering was built in 1953 and sits on two acres. Original owners of the home purchased the property from Colonel Edward Deeds, former president of National Cash Register Company in the 1930s to 1950s.
The four-bedroom, six-bath home is of a transitional style home with modern and traditional features. The home has nearly 5,500 square feet of living space.
