Boeing Awarded $2.56B Air Force Definitized Contract for E-7A Rapid Prototype Program

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing (NYSE: BA) a potential $2.56 billion contract to build two rapid prototype E-7A Wedgetail airborne early warning and control aircraft and provide lifecycle development, training and other support services for the service branch’s E-7A fleet. The Department of Defense said Friday the award marks the definitization of a $1.2 billion undefinitized contract action awarded in February 2023.

Rheinmetall is set to acquire for $950 million Loc Performance , a vehicle specialist headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, with a workforce of around 1,000 employees and customers in the civilian as well as defense sectors. Loc Performance's offerings include drivetrains, suspensions and track systems, many of which are used by U.S. military ground vehicles, Rheinmetall said Tuesday.
