1. Small Dayton town seeks to grow while it keeps 'rural feel’
A small rural community in western Miami Valley looks to grow over the next 10 years. As Brookville’s city manager, Jack Kuntz, said he wants the community to keep its rural feel but continue to grow and evolve.

2. Skyline Chili to add daily breakfast menu at five Ohio locations starting this month
Five Skyline Chili locations will serve the company’s new breakfast menu, which made its debut last year at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Skyline partnered on the menu with its consulting chef, Robert Sieber, a 35-year-old Miami University alumnus who cut his teeth at Cincinnati restaurant Daveed’s before embarking on his own?culinary journey.?
One of the locations will be in the Dayton region.

3. Growing Midwest convenience chain shares plans for next Dayton location
Casey's General Stores recently announced their intent to open their next Dayton location in Brookville.
The convenience chain is best known for its pizza and is the fifth-largest pizza chain in the country, according to their website. Casey's has over 10 stores in the Dayton region, including in Xenia, Beavercreek and Huber Heights.

4. DBJ unveils 2024 Women Who Mean Business honorees
The Dayton Business Journal has revealed the 2024 inaugural class of our first-ever Women Who Mean Business Awards.
The Women Who Mean Business Awards are dedicated to honoring the remarkable achievements and contributions of women in the world of business. Women were encouraged to self-nominate themselves or others, and the DBJ Editorial Board made selections based on professional achievements, leadership, entrepreneurial skills and community service.
We will honor this year’s winners during a luncheon reception from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at NCR Country Club.

5. Dayton Live's new president and CEO has international roots
Dayton Live has named Gabriel van Aalst as its new president and CEO. He will begin in the role later this fall.
“We are confident Gabriel will be a tremendous asset to the organization and look forward to him continuing the great trajectory of the company," said Dave Dickerson, board chair of Dayton Live.
