The Interest Subvention Scheme (ISS) offers subsidized short-term agricultural loans to farmers engaged in crop cultivation, animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries. It grants a 7% per annum interest rate for one-year short-term crop loans up to Rs. 3.00 lakh, and an additional 3% subvention is given for punctual repayment, effectively lowering the interest rate to 4% per annum. In natural disasters, small and marginal farmers with Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs) can access ISS benefits for post-harvest loans using Negotiable Warehouse Receipts (NWRs) for six months.
