Forest River Peers, Friends, Salute Don Gunden’s Retirement

GOSHEN, Ind. – Hundreds of friends and family turned out Wednesday night at the Maplecrest Country Club to honor Don Gunden, who retired earlier in February after a nearly 50-year career with Forest River Inc.

The night was highlighted by many smiles, many stories and many hugs and handshakes.

Gunden, who was the general manager overseeing the Rockwood, Flagstaff, Palomino and other successful Forest River brands, kept his remarks from the podium brief and to the point.

Winnebago, Xos Partner to Develop Specialty EV Chassis

LOS ANGELES and FOREST CITY, Iowa – Xos, Inc. (NASDAQ: XOS), a leading manufacturer of electric commercial vehicles, and Winnebago, the flagship brand of outdoor lifestyle product manufacturer Winnebago Industries Inc. (NYSE: WGO), have announced in a press release a partnership and development of a fully electric chassis for Winnebago’s Specialty Vehicles division.

This chassis utilizes proven Xos battery and electronics technology and is customized for Winnebago’s unique commercial applications.

“We constantly seek new ways to enhance our customers’ mission, and our partnership with Xos is an important next step in our efforts,” said Robert Kim, director for Winnebago’s Specialty Vehicles division. “The near-term demand for zero-emission vehicle options from our Specialty Vehicle division continues to grow and we look forward to extending our leadership position using an Xos chassis designed to integrate seamlessly into our manufacturing processes.”

Wholesale RV Shipments into Canada Down 15.7% in 2023

BURLINGTON, Ont. – The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association reports that RV Wholesale Shipments into Canada for the 4th Quarter ending Dec. 31, 2023 totaled 6,303 units compared to 7,480 in 2022, representing a decrease of 15.7% year over year.

According to Statistical Surveys, RVDA of Canada reported that Retail Activity during the 4th Quarter totaled 3,455 units and when compared to the wholesale shipment figure of 6,303 units, Canadian RV Dealer Inventory levels significantly increased during the period reversing negative trends that were reported in prior quarters in the year. This is considered to be a positive sign as Dealers gear up for the Canadian Winter/Spring Show Season in 2024.
