1 年Great article Mohsin Sayed Hashmi ! In addition to reasons you mentioned, couple of others that I have experienced are: 1. Underemphasis on buy-in from the people that handle the data - I totally agree with you that we need adequate executive support and sponsorship to be successful on your data governance program, but I believe equal importance should be given to getting the buy-in from the people that handle the data on a day-to-day basis i.e. your line staff, process owners & engineers. Failing to demonstrate the value of the program to them and undermining the needed commitment from them to change their processes will hinder the success of your program no matter how well aligned top-up leadership is on the program. 2. Importance of iterative approach and keep demonstrating the value of the program as you move along - If you don't focus on early wins and keep delivering value in iterations, you will soon lose focus, commitment & motivation at both top-up & bottom-down levels. 3. Importance of solid change management & dedicated staff to train your employees on new processes & technology, and hold their hand as they come up to speed.
