This is 1 of 12 parts of an interview I conducted with Michael Leckie author of The Heart of Transformation where he discussed the 6 people focused capabilities he believes organisations need in order to change. The full interview will be available in January.
I was asked recently for some thoughts on what I've seen in the world of digital transformation over the past few years for a new book coming out by Dave Millner entitled 'Introduction to People Analytics: A Practical Guide to Data Driven HR Second Edition out in May 23.
And here it is - the clue is in the title :)
Leadership
By Richard Chiumento Member Forbes Worldwide Council of Coaches
At this point, we are no longer strangers to disruption. It feels as though we have adapted, redirected, and flexed nonstop since early 2020 to the point where this has become our default mode of operation. 2022 was a continuation of this way of being rather than a deviation from it.
Naturally, many leaders are concerned about what lies ahead for the next 12 months, and what these hurdles might mean for their business’s growth, profitability, and shape. As many of our clients move their focus to 2023, we are highlighting five of the main challenges and priorities they foresee ahead.
Andrew Bird?strategy advisor shared this interview with?Ann Sherry.
Some key snippets he shared and link to his post below:
"Organisations that don’t consider stakeholder needs and views carry a lot of risks, said Sherry. “It’s not a small-ticket item. Sometimes, small things generate big consequences.”
Directors should ask themselves if they’re doing enough to listen to the concerns of stakeholders and whether they should be hearing more unvarnished views — because often boards react to secondary information from surveys or management.
“Do directors really understand the stakeholder views, how fast they’re changing and also how organised they are?” asked Sherry. “And do we think management is listening enough to stakeholder"views?”

Summary.??
For too long, communicating strategy has been an afterthought. Executives have shared long, bombastic documents or withheld critical information and expected people to just “get it.” And it hasn’t worked. Greater external uncertainty, collaboration, employee anxiety, and organizational openness demands a change of approach. The author presents five actions that will improve the clarity and quality of communication, enabling stakeholders to make a more substantive and meaningful contribution to the strategy.

We've got Web3 all wrong with the over-financialized lens of tokenomics. We need to get back to a value creation lens and build from the first principles. The shift to protocols is a fundamental redesign of value creation and markets, not just a shift towards decentralization or read/write/own. This playbook explains why this shift matters. This is your playbook for getting Web3 right.
