AI with morals: Google-backed Anthropic reveals the set of values that guide its AI

In a significant development in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), Anthropic, an AI startup backed by Google owner Alphabet Inc, has unveiled the set of moral values that guide its AI system, Claude. Anthropic's approach, called Constitutional AI, aims to create a safe and reliable AI system by providing explicit values determined by a constitution.

Claude's constitution draws inspiration from various sources, including the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights and Apple's data privacy rules. The constitution serves as a guide for Claude's decision-making process, ensuring that its responses align with ethical and moral considerations.

AI algorithms for diagnosing rare diseases do not include current human diversity, finds study

Up to 40% of rare diseases show facial alterations that enable researchers to identify some pathologies, and they can even help establish an early diagnosis. Historically, the visual evaluation and use of some classic anthropometric measurements—diameter of the head, etc.—have enabled early diagnosis in rare diseases. With the most sophisticated and automated techniques, based on artificial intelligence (AI), it is now possible to apply more objective methods. However, most of the AI-generated algorithms have databases with populations of European origins and they ignore the genetic and morphological diversity of human populations of around the world.

Including populations of Amerindian, African, Asian and European origins in the AI-generated algorithms is decisive for improving the diagnostic methods of?rare diseases, as stated in a new article published in the journal?Scientific Reports. The study is led by Neus Martínez-Abadías, lecturer at the Faculty of Biology of the UB, and it includes the participation of experts of Ramon Llull University, the ICESI University in Colombia, the Center for Research on Congenital Anomalies and Rare Diseases (CIACER) and the Valle del Lili Foundation in Colombia.

What was your journey like to get where you are?

I started with crypto in 2017 and went all the way up with the?market, but unfortunately traced it all the way down into a bear market. During the downturn, I had the extra time to focus on learning and getting into crypto marketing as a consultant. Since 2019 I have been continuing to build in the crypto world, and I am now running a Web3 marketing agency with 16 employees.

In a simpler phrase, what is your company exactly doing?

We are a Web3 marketing agency working with genuine projects to help grow their community. We use a multitude of different methods such as influencer marketing, public relations, paid ads, and social media management to help our clients create awareness for their projects and announcements.

What about Metaverse are you most excited about in the future?

I am most excited about the added value to people’s lives that the Metaverse can offer. This is both in the forms of community building and enjoying games as well as for artist creation and digital collectibles. I think the most exciting features of the Metaverse that we will all cherish are not developed yet, which is what makes it such an exciting space.

Why should we be paying attention to the Metaverse?

The Metaverse is already here, it has been here for quite some time and is growing daily as more and more users begin to merge their physical life with their virtual ones. More integrations are coming for the Metaverse, so we should be paying attention to the Metaverses rise as the number of activities we do will only continue to rise. Own digital assets and build new connections, all virtually.
