I am always fine tuning my own plans for my business and this means keeping one eye on new challenges for technology and the other on the individuals who work for or with us that make things happen. Both areas are key but planning for success does mean making sure there is transparency and balance between the two while also keeping ahead of the trends.
But what will our workforces need to look and feel like in 2020? For me there are some definite key themes that look set to impact employers in the New Year.
- Communication is key and with the available tech there is no excuse. But be sure to communicate your goals personally to ensure they are understood.
- Back your talent, develop your people and make sure you design your culture and core values
- Think flexibly. Changing your perspectives and behaviours to match the needs of the changing workforce as they understand the need to be flexible.
- Think about your social impact do your bit to build your business eco system to support and save the planet and make a difference in the world while building your talent pool at the same time!
- Develop your leaders and your leadership skills. Leadership is something you do WITH your people so inclusion and involvement are key.
