Top Five Rooftops To Enjoy This Summer!

Top Five Rooftops To Enjoy This Summer!

Hello and welcome to another edition of Intentional, it’s great to have you back!

Is there anything better than spending a sunny day on a rooftop in London? I think not.

This edition is entirely dedicated to help you find the best rooftops to enjoy this summer – with or without your pooch.

Hope you’ll love my five top picks. Let’s dive right in!

Experience Canary Wharf differently ?? Bōkan 39

If you’ve never been to Bōkan, you’re in for a treat! But don’t just get there though, get there my way! Start your adventure from the Canada Water Cafe – the perfect spot to grab an authentic Italian lunch or indulge in an afternoon Tiramisù. Set your navigation to the Stave Hill viewpoint (~10min) for uninterrupted views of the Canary Wharf skyline and the beautiful Russia Dock Woodland. Now head to Durand’s Wharf (~10min) for one of the best Canary Wharf views London has to offer and walk to the pier (~4min) to grab an Uber boat to Canary Wharf. You’ll be over within minutes, ready to walk to Bōkan (~7min) and enjoy a drink on their 39th floor terrace, where the views just get better!

Sunset, Battersea views and Paella ?? JOIA

When you walk into JOIA, the first thing that takes your breath away is the bar interiors, designed by Russel Sage Studios, which will calm any corporate-induced anger you’ve been building up. The second thing is the Paella, their Arroz de Marisco, a dish designed to be shared by two people, which will have you argue even with your own mother, because you just can’t get enough. Whether you decide to visit JOIA for their beautiful restaurant (in which case I highly recommend their Sunday menu at £55pp or their chef’s tasting menu at £95pp) or to enjoy their tapas menu on the 16th floor rooftop, go at sunset and experience one of the best views Battersea has to offer.?

Feels like a summer holiday ?? Seabird

Located on the 14th floor of The Hoxton hotel, Seabird offers panoramic views of London from within the heart of Southwark. With Spanish and Portuguese influences, their menu features classics like Paella paired with an array of delicious tapas. But, what’s set to steal the show here - beyond the beautiful views - is Seabird’s Afternoon Sea, their incredible twist on an afternoon tea offering three layers of seafood chilled on ice. Not convinced yet? Seabird even has the biggest selection of oysters in London! Try their Oyster Happy Hour every Monday to Friday from 3-6pm, pairing their classic martini with oysters from France, England, Scotland and Ireland.

Jurema: an unexpected oasis ?? The Mandrake

Located on the first-floor terrace of The Mandrake hotel is Jurema, an unexpected oasis in the heart of Fitzrovia. Walking in, you’re immediately surrounded by nature, looking up to the hanging garden of suspended jasmine and passionflower and the greenhouse on the second floor. Overlooking the courtyard filled with Tasmanian Ferns, you’re bound to forget where you are for a moment. As for the food, Jurema offers a beautiful selection of South American inspired dishes. Try their Veuve Clicquot Champagne set lunch, every Wednesday to Saturday to enjoy two courses for £25 and three for £30 or their Early Dinner offer on Fridays and Saturdays, booking between 6-6.30pm for a 30% off.

Surrounded by greenery and views ?? The Nest

Well, you know me, this edition wouldn’t have been complete without a dog-friendly option, welcome to The Nest. Located on the 16th floor of the Treehouse hotel, just five minutes away from Oxford Circus, is this wonderful wraparound terrace, where you can enjoy 360-degree views of London, surrounded by beautiful greenery. Whether you’re here to grab a drink or a meal, The Nest offers an incredible selection of crafted cocktails and sharing platters from the land and the sea. And now for the main event, Drinks on the Woof. Available every Sunday from 12pm-3pm, this is the perfect chance to enjoy drinks on the rooftop with your pooch and treat them to The Nest’s special dog menu.
