For International Students
I figured I'd compile my favorite 2018 International Advantage articles. If you have been following The International Advantage for awhile, treat these articles as a refresher because you may have seen them before. If you are new to The International Advantage program, this post is a one stop shop for you, so make sure you read the articles below and execute on what I am asking to do. And if you can, share this post with other international students you know. Thanks for doing that.
For many international students, the real driver to come to the U.S was not a U.S. education per se. U.S. employment after graduation is the ultimate prize. As H-1B jobs increasingly become perceived as more difficult, uncertain, and harder to attain in general, we feel it is our obligation to work even harder and smarter to help international students beat the odds, keep their dreams alive, and secure great jobs in the U.S.
We saw great job search wins from international students in 2018, from a variety of different fields. In fact, I will be releasing a separate post soon highlighting my favorite wins.
We also observed a general increase from universities in terms of both the quality and quantity of job search support offered to international students. In particular, STEM departments have really picked up the pace, and many are beginning to offer job search support for international students comparable to what business schools have had in place for awhile now. International STEM Students: this is great news for you!
And perhaps most importantly, out of necessity, corporate America is ready to hire many our international students. We consider the 190,098 FY 2019 # of H-1B applications as a strong indicator that the H-1B program is alive and well. RFEs and other complications aside, one could say that there has never been a better time to get hired into a great U.S job as an international student, particularly if you have a U.S graduate degree. If you play your cards right international students, a high paying H-1B job is something you should look forward to after graduation if that is what you want.
Without further due, below are the 9 - not 10 - articles I thought you should check out.
The articles below are not International Advantage articles per se, but we have been mentioned in these articles and we think they are worth a read...

5 年I highlighted and took notes a lot just by reading few chapters from your book. I had always been a go-getter.? However, I lacked of confidence because I did not know how to turn my background, culture and ethnicity into my personal advantage. I was worried because I was not able to find the solutions, but I know I am blessed to do more than this. Thank you!
