Top 7 things we do at my house to use less water

Top 7 things we do at my house to use less water

It hasn't rained in a while in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Delaware. At my house, we've been trying to conserve water. This is how:

  1. While waiting for hot shower water, put the cold water in a bucket and use it for plants and the bird bath.
  2. Turn the shower off when not rinsing.
  3. Change the toilet flush flappers yearly to avoid insidious leaking.
  4. Only run the dishwasher when it's full.
  5. Separate kitchen sink water used to clean vegetables, use it to water plants.
  6. Maintain outdoor faucets.
  7. Turn the house water valve off when going on vacation.
