Top 7 LXPs for 2019

Top 7 LXPs for 2019

There are folks who have not yet signed up for my bi-monthly newsletter. As such, some readers have asked if the post can be re-printed here on Linkedin.

Before announcing the rankings, here is the link to subscribe to my newsletter. And if you are a vendor who wishes to be listed in my new learning system directory where consumers can search, compare and engage with you, please contact me via Linkedin. Lastly, if you are looking for an LMS, LXP or any other learning system OR conducting research pre-buy, I strongly recommend using my platform, FindAnLMS. - Thank you in advance.

Ranking Criteria

I used my new LXP template as the key component of the rankings PLUS viewing the platform. Factors included UI/UX, content curation, content and what a learner can do with it (options), machine learning/deep learning, video capabilities - although most have video streaming, learning environment, admin, skill-building and synthesis functionality and analytical data were functions they received higher weights.

The Top 7 (Update: These are fluid, with the official final rankings coming out December 12, 2018)

#1 Learn Amp -  Scored high in the LXP template. Big wins include excellent UI/UX, administration, analytics and learning environment functionality, content curation, skill building all strong. If there was a minus, I'd say no xAPI and on/off synch for mobile (On the FindAnLMS platform. You can schedule a demo, send them info too).

#2 Degreed - Very strong system, the UI is excellent, the UX is very good - but still needs some tweaks. Learning Environment, and Admin are quite good. The analytical data needs some enhancements, as I really do not see the value of telling me someone clicked a link to go to an Article, without providing how long they were on the page and how often tied to the time length (more relevant). I love the skill ratings, but it still needs a couple of pieces to really make it shine.

#3 coorpacademy - Surprised? Well, you shouldn't be. This LXP is definitely a fast riser. I would wish they have SCORM, but at least they have xAPI. UI/UX is excellent. Analytical data is quite good. Gamification battles - are very cool. Admin is good and learning environment is strong. Mobile plays well. Video management is superb. Built-in authoring tool enables you to create your own content, although the tool, like so many others, is avg (most in systems are). A riser in my 2018 NexGen Learning System Grid. (On the FindAnLMS platform. Ability to schedule demos, too.)

4. EdCast LXP and Knowledge Cloud - Well known in many circles, but folks I think forget that is system has a lot going for it. Scored high on the LXP template. UI is good, UX is very good. Mobile is here, with on/off synch and native apps - big wins. Admin and LE are very good. Accepts SCORM and xAPI. Love the built-in LRS. Video management is solid but is missing auto-detect frames per second. Lots to like. A riser in my 2018 NexGen Learning System Grid. (On the FindAnLMS Platform)

5.360Learning - Strong with UI. UX is solid, needs some enhancements. Would like to see xAPI as a course standard, but has SCORM. Administration quite good includes batch upload of learners (not every LXP has this). Mobile solid. Learning Environment is good. This is for Enterprise edition - which is the one you want to buy. (On the FindAnLMS Platform. Can schedule demos, send info too)

6. TILE - Digital badging tied to BU School of Business is great. UI is above average, UX is good. Video management including auto-detect frames per second and video streaming - outstanding. Learning Environment good. The administration is good too. Utilizes AI very well in the platform and analytics backs that up. (On the FindAnLMS Platform)

7.  Percipio by Skillsoft - Talk about doing new things. You can now add 3rd party content to the platform. UI has always been quite good. UX is above average. Enhancements are needed here, but this system has come a long way. Competency component is good. Curation is good too. I will note they need to kabash that autoplay video when you visit their site. (On the FindAnLMS Platform)

Congrats to the Top 7. As to why, I did not do a Top 10? The answer is simple -anyone can do a top 10.

Not necessarily a top seven (okay, many can, but go with it).

I agree, Craig ...?Learn Amp?is an amazing solution. As far as I know, they prepared some intriguing news for 2020.? I was wondering if you are going to create such a list even about learning content libraries.?

So an update - I should have noted that this was fluid, in that it could change before the end of the year.? The official and final rankings were posted yesterday via my newsletter and on Linkedin.? TY.?
