Top 6 LinkedIn Statistics for Law Firm Marketing

Top 6 LinkedIn Statistics for Law Firm Marketing

Well, I am not an employee of LinkedIn, but I am definitely a huge proponent for using the right tool for the right job. Of course, if you are an attorney in any practice, having well structured Google Ads and a strategic well-defined SEO plan is crucial, but as I also always say, a good law firm marketing plan is always multifaceted.

That being said, using LinkedIn properly is such an important aspect of a strong law firm marketing campaign. I've written other articles and blogs about how to use it properly, including the importance of engaging with your potential clients proactively rather than waiting for people to engage with you, but today I want to focus on WHY it is important to use LinkedIn consistently and help you use the right methods to reach these users.

  1. Over 150 million American workers have LinkedIn profiles. This is a massive statistic. About half of the entire US population is using LinkedIn. That means that working people, with paychecks, who get in car accidents and have health related lawsuits, are on LinkedIn. I can't think of a better way to reach these people, can you?
  2. Inmail has a 300 percent higher open-rate than traditional email. Another huge statistic. Having a good email marketing campaign can really help you stay connected with your clients and help generate new business as well, but a well-run email campaign might only generate a 30% open rate, versus LinkedIn Inmail which generally has over 90% open/read rates. If you really want to be noticed, send some Inmails on LinkedIn and you will be seen for sure.
  3. 2 professionals join LinkedIn every second. LinkedIn has grown by 123 million users in just 2 years from 467 million to 590 million worldwide. By comparison, Twitter only grew by 9 million in that same timeframe. You definitely want your law firm to have a presence in this space.
  4. 2 million articles, videos, and posts are published on LinkedIn everyday. This is great news for your law firm. If you are going to post pictures of memes about politics, your family, and Spiderman, you might want to stick to Facebook, but LinkedIn is business-focused, which means that the people looking at your content are not usually looking for funny memes about the Kardashians. Continue to educate and inform your "following" with thoughtful relevant content and you will become a trusted source.
  5. 80% of social media driven B2B leads come from LinkedIn. Once again, wow! If you are in the B2B business, you will not find better results anywhere. You can really dial in your search demographic and find the people you are trying to reach with ease. If you are a law firm looking to target specific companies, or people within specific companies, you can do that easily without leaving your computer screen.
  6. 58% of LinkedIn advertisers are satisfied with their ROI. I challenge all of you to find a 58% satisfaction rating in any other marketing space. I can't stress how important it is to have qualified people running your LinkedIn marketing campaign for your law firm. It is a little pricier to run ads on LinkedIn versus other social media platforms, but the ROI is great if you have it strategically placed. If you don't know how to do it, or if you simply don't have the time or bandwidth to learn how, please hire a qualified person/agency to do so. It will pay dividends.
