#28 - Be punctual and arrive on time for your interview
Job interviews are one of the most important steps in getting your dream job. You want to be punctual, polite and show responsibility by showing up for every meeting on time or early!
This is something that, in all honesty, should go without saying.
I know of a job applicant who was passed over for an excellent position because she got a flat tire on the way to the interview. However, getting a flat tire is not why they lost the job. Let's face it, things happen. The reason they didn't get the position was that they didn't call to notify the firm that they would be late. And it wasn't until 2 hours after the interview was scheduled to begin that the company discovered it. The explanation was that their cell phone had run out of battery. This demonstrated a lack of forethought and responsibility, and the applicant was eliminated from contention for the job.
Arriving on time demonstrates that you respect their time and are prepared to be professional. It also gives you a breather before the interview begins, allowing you to relax and gather your thoughts. You'll be in a far better position to make an excellent first impression and get the job you want if you're well-prepared and have a good attitude. When it comes to job interviews, be on time and arrive on time. It might be the difference between obtaining the position and being overlooked.

#27 - Pay attention to your body language
Job interviews can be stressful. You want to make sure you're sending the right message to the employer with your body language.
When looking for a job, you must convey confidence. The company is looking to see if you have faith in yourself and your skills. They want to be sure that you're capable of doing the task and that you have the abilities to do it well.
Every movement you make during a job interview - from the way you sit to the expressions on your face - sends a message to the employer. It's important to be aware of your body language and use it to project confidence and interest in the position.
Sit up straight and avoid crossing your arms, which can give the impression of closed-mindedness or defensiveness. Make sure your facial expressions match the enthusiasm you feel about the opportunity. Positive body language conveys that you're excited about the role and confident in your ability to excel in it.
Remember, employers will form the first impression of you based on your body language before they even hear you speak. Use this to your advantage by being conscious of the message you're sending with your posture, gestures, and expressions. With the right body language, you can make a strong case for why you're the best candidate for the job.

#26 - Turn off your phone or put it on silent mode BEFORE your job interview.
The cell phone has become a staple in our everyday lives. We rely on them for communication, directions, entertainment, and much more. However, there is one place where your phone does not belong: the job interview.
Before the interview begins, remember to switch off your phone or set it to silent mode. This will help you remain focused and avoid any potential distractions. The last thing you want is for your phone to ring during the interview and disrupt the flow of the conversation.
By keeping your phone off and out of sight, you can ensure that you are fully present and ready to make a great impression. You might be surprised by how much more engaged you will feel when the interview begins if your phone is off. It also demonstrates respect for both parties involved-the interviewer and those interviewing him or her!
The best way to show this? Turn that electronics down before starting so they don't get in between what's happening at home versus work...and remember no distractions during important discussions ever!"
Also, if you are asked a question and you need to take a moment to think about it, you can use your phone as a distraction-free way to take notes. This will show that you are still interested in the job and are taking the interview process seriously.
So, remember to turn off your phone before the job interview begins!

#25 - During an interview, make eye contact and smile.
During a job interview, making eye contact with the interviewer and smiling throughout the conversation is important.
Making eye contact during a job interview is important for several reasons.
Smiling is an important nonverbal cue that can help you during a job interview. It conveys friendliness and approachability, two qualities that are essential in any employee. Moreover, smiling can help to put the interviewer at ease and make them more likely to remember you positively. By making eye contact and smiling throughout the interview, you will convey confidence, interest, and approachability, all of which will improve your chances of landing the job.

#24 - During an interview, admit when you make a mistake.
Being able to admit when you make a mistake is one of the most important things you can do during an interview, for a number of reasons.
By admitting your mistakes, you are showing your interviewer that you are a competent and introspective individual who is willing to learn and improve. This is the type of employee that companies want to hire.
To offer a specific example, let's say you were asked how you would handle a customer complaint. In your response, be sure to mention what you would do differently next time to avoid making the same mistake. For example, if you forgot to resolve the issue, you could explain that you would follow up with the customer to ensure that their issue is resolved. This would help to build trust and confidence in your ability to handle customer complaints effectively. By being transparent and honest about your mistakes, you can show that you are committed to learning from them and improving your customer service skills.
So, if you find yourself in an interview and you make a mistake, don't be afraid to admit it. It just might be the thing that sets you apart from the rest of the candidates.
