The Top 50+ Educators to Follow On Linkedin in 2025 According to me.
Happy New Year! As promised, here is my list of the 50-plus educators that I think you should get on your follow list for 2025. This is not a ranking list, nor is it supposed to throw shade on anyone. In fact, this is the start, and I encourage you all in the comments to add your own lists.
I will also share with you the questions I ask myself before posting on LinkedIn , and interspersed between these questions will be my list of educators that I suggest you follow.
Every time I'm about to share content on LinkedIn, I pause and run through my personal checklist of 5 questions:
Does this add value? I ask myself if what I'm sharing truly helps my network. Whether it's a lesson learned from my work in education leadership, a practical tip, or an insight gained - it needs to serve a purpose beyond just taking up space in someone's feed.
Who am I writing this for??I consider my audience carefully. As an educator, I consider whether this post will resonate with fellow school leaders, teachers, or others in my professional circle. There is no point in writing for the sake of writing.

Is this the right time? I check if my content is timely and relevant to current professional conversations. I also consider when my connections are most likely to be engaging with LinkedIn content. Tone deff posts really rub me the wrong way. I also try to avoid the cringe posts, but this one is hard because what cringe is for one person is not for another person.

Have I double-checked everything? Before posting, I always review for accuracy. This means not just checking spelling and grammar but verifying any facts, figures, or references I've included.

What do I want people to do with this information? I make sure I'm clear about my intent - whether I'm looking to start a discussion, share knowledge, or connect with others facing similar challenges. Sometimes, all I want you to do is relax and read, and other times, I might just be promoting a Teach Middle East Magazine event.

At the start of my LinkedIn content creation journey, I used to be that person who posted content and then refreshed LinkedIn a thousand times to count the likes. A classic case of refresh-itis, if you will. I'd check my phone every few minutes, getting that little dopamine hit with each new notification. Pretty ridiculous when I think about it now.
That's when I realised I had it all wrong. Those likes weren't paying my bills or building meaningful professional relationships. Now, I measure success differently - through the quality of conversations, the genuine connections made, and the actual value exchanged. One thoughtful comment that sparks a real discussion is worth more than a hundred drive-by likes. Trust me, breaking free from the obsession with metrics is surprisingly liberating.

1 个月Congratulations to all the incredible educators identified in the Top 50 Influential Educators on LinkedIn! Your dedication and contributions to education worldwide are truly appreciated. At the same time, let's not forget the countless others who quietly make a difference every day—those who, as the saying goes, 'hide their light under a bushel.' Anyone who enters the field of education deserves to be celebrated, from amazing teachers like my wife, Lisa Pollitt , to passionate school principals like Benjamin Barry , and visionary advisors like Matt Wren , Gerald Mercer , Mona Salem Binothman, Gerald Chabot, Ph.D., Lubna AlShamsi and so many more. If you know an educator—whether they’re teaching, leading, or advising—take a moment to thank them for the incredible work they do. Together, they are shaping the future one student at a time.

1 个月Interesting idea leveraging LinkedIn to drive eyeballs to users via a self-identifying “popularity contest”. You have my attention, and hope to be on your list next time!!! What may also be trendy is if every educator here would create such a subjective list and then submit to a trusted source who then compiles, analyzes and publishes said meta analysis of what all the myriad educators thought, thereby giving us a larger sampling of what educators follow. Validation and reliability might be a worthy goal to be shared if we are going to refer to the broader pool of thought provoking educational topics thought worthy by the pros to be fully trusted with life’s most precious resource: our children. Carry on!
