Top 5 Worst Executive Orders

You will agree with me that some people prefer to read short brief bullet points as opposed to videos and long essays.

So here is the final recap from Episode 1 of #UNONOMICS.

Top 5 worst executive orders Trump just signed about ago and intends to sign in February.

1. Tariff on Canada and Mexico: The U.S is currently in a deficit of about $50bln with Canada and $150bln with Mexico. If it does go ahead with tariff, it will increase prices of goods and affect factors of production. Canada is bracing for this by getting ready some stimulus to assist the industries that would be most affected. These countries intend to retaliate, and it might end up also affecting U.S as well as it would cause dual pressure on goods in US not just from tariff but its recent immigration efforts as well.
2. Green Vehicle Mandate: Trump quickly scrapped this plan by former President Joe Bidden to position the US in the electric race. The numbers though don't lie and not much demand for U.S new electric cars out there. China sold 1.2millon ($65bln) new cars and almost half were electric compared to U.S 80K ($4bln) sales which a fraction being electric. Trump is ok with continue muscle cars as U.S clearly produces cars for its own use locally. Car manufacturers can take their legs off the pedal and go it on their own pace.
3. LGBTQ and TRANS for republicans and democrats: There was this big debate for the election and all that. Anyways Trump has sent the LGBTQ and Trans equality race decades back with sweeping orders that will even go as far as laying off military personnel. I just wonder what LGBTQ for republicans are thinking now. All government policies, budgets and grants to revert to 2 genders; male or female. There is a lot of sunk cost and more spend will happen to abolish all the 3rd gender policies and initiatives carried out in past 4 to 12 years of democratic party rule.
4. Birth Citizenship: Trump had looked to cancel this completely in the U.S and state that one can only become a U.S citizen if 1 of the parents are citizens. This is currently being challenged in the courts. Trump order has been blocked here and will make its way to supreme court to decide.
5. Immigration Crackdown: Trump signed orders mobilizing agents, security personal and even military to support in flying out illegal immigrants. They initial said they are going after just those illegal immigrants that have criminal records in the first round of deportations, but the story is changing to just about anyone they can get. Each ICE officer is apparently being given 70 or more a day target as Trump wants them to push out over 1000 or 2000 a day out of America.

In addition to the above, Trump receded over 70 of Joe Bidden executive orders with 1 signature. Trump did the impossible and unthinkable as his very first executive order actually reversed over 70 of Bidens orders which capture several issues. Some were landmark executive orders during Biden administration.

A number of these orders as expected by Trump are in court and are being challenged. Seems he is playing the game of let see what sticks. That's it for the executive orders we will continue to watch this space and release small write ups if needed.
