Top 5 Ways Veteran CEOs Impact GovCon Communities

Looking at the INC 5000 List, I wondered what it took for a GovCon to get on this list - how long, what's different, and what it the impact?
About 10% of the GovCons on the Inc 5000 2020 list are in Huntsville, Alabama, the Rocket City. Way more than NASA there on Redstone Arsenal!
Curtis Taylor, CEO of Linc Research shared with me what impact a company can have on the community - all while effectively solving critical problems for NASA and DOD.
Here's a quote from the Linc Research website:
"Who we are?"
Since the establishment of Linc Research, a HUBZone company, the desire has been to be problem solvers/innovators of solutions and to be partners in the restoration of circumstantially disadvantaged communities. Linc's workforce consists of accomplished individuals in the research, development, test and evaluation and programmatic support areas for NASA, DOD, and commercial missions."
"Linc has experience in technical and business services for flight and technology programs for NASA and DOD; management and support of NASA and DOD technology development programs; design and test for structural applications and flight vehicles; and support of HUBZone communities through initiatives such as STEM for Science Labs and Work Now!"
Here's the commitment that Curtis shared:
- Start with your top Capability and build on it: for Linc Research, it is Mechanical and Structural Engineering with Vibration Mitigation.
- Find ways to innovate and capture the Intellectual Property (IP) with patents and technology transfers so that other technology can be developed from your ideas.
3. Share with others what it takes to succeed and grow. Curtis Taylor received NASA Small Business Leadership Award 2020, and Linc Research received Small Business Prime Contractor Excellence Award, both from Marshall Space Flight Center.
4. Invest in underutilized areas to provide for stability, growth and jobs. Look around the community and find what is needed.
5. Partner with others who share your values, like the team that created the Hubzone Accelerator in Huntsville.
We're honored that Curtis Taylor will join us at GovConSummit this year as one of several Inc 5000 Veteran Entrepreneurs making big impact in serving DOD and communities.
