Top 5 Undervalued Features on Kyocera MFPs

In a time where subscription services reign supreme I find myself missing the days of the one time inclusive payment for ongoing functionality. I mean, is it really necessary to pay a monthly subscription for heated seats in our cars???

Business is no different. Too often I see people being sold software that they are barely using, yet they are paying for this robust software. Some people are paying for software when the device could have accomplished the end goal using the features already included on the device. Is this due to an incompetent sales rep, lazy sales rep, impatient sales rep, or greedy sales rep?

This is why when I meet with a prospective customer one of my first goals is to understand their overall business objectives and day to day operations because I can then pinpoint functionality that offers powerful impact without jumping to something that requires a subscription. This is also why I can't just "send you a proposal" after one phone call.

The point is, understanding one's business goals/technology goals allows me to uncover bespoke solutions which many times, only requires configuration at install without additional costs. This is also why I always say that I can show you an "apples to apples" comparison, but what if the apples are rotten?!

Top 5 Undervalued Features on Kyocera MFPs:

1. ?? Skip Blank Page

If a document contains blank pages, this function skips them to copy/scan only non-blank pages. If an original where one side is blank is scanned, blank pages are skipped for 2-sided copying.

2. ?? Private Print

Sometimes you need to print a document securely without anyone else seeing. For this purpose, Kyocera multifunctional devices are enabled with a private print feature that?releases your job on demand at the device when prompted with a code keeping sensitive documents secure.

3. ?? ID Card Copy

You can use the ID card copy function to copy multiple items onto a single page, such as both sides of a drivers licence.

4. ?? Custom Job Box

The custom box represents a printing solution where an end-user can print to a "custom box" on the device where a document will be stored for later printing. Think forms, training materials, and marketing materials.

5. ?? Kyocera Net Viewer (PCs)

This is a comprehensive network management tool used to monitor, maintain, and update the print environment, locally and remotely. Administrators can easily monitor printed black/color pages, device configuration, accounting, toner usage, and alerts. When people are set-up with account codes, administrators can see a snapshot of user behavior, so device placement can be optimized and proper usage enforced. Using this tool greatly reduces the time associated with managing your connected devices.

?? Honorable Mention

Kyocera's waste container system

If you have ever had to deal with a full waste container on a copier you know that until it's replaced, the machine basically shuts down. Well, with Kyocera A3 devices the empty black and white toner cartridge doubles as the waste container so by keeping an empty black and white container you always have a waste container ready to go. No more waiting for a new one to be sent, dumping out the toner waste making a mess, or having to ask for an extra to store. The bonus- recycling!
