2017 was an excellent year for AMO! Our observation of PMOs across industries, was also positive, with a greater awareness of the PMO and its place in today’s organisations.
A number of interesting engagements across a variety of clients in Banking, Aviation, Financial Services and Transport industry last year, brought to life just how unique a PMO can be. Its clearly evident, that a one size does not fit all in PMO, even often in the same organisation where a number of variables are present.
What we have been seeing though, is a shift in the way organisations are working. More and more organisations are adapting to newer and more flexible ways of working, where they may look to integrate Agile or other culture-based methodologies, that impact the way they run a project to deliver a product or service.
"Everything in life evolves, so too should the PMO! "
In some organisations, we begin to strategize on how we align the traditional PMO to meet organisational governance requirements. In others sadly, there is no shift. We think about the things that we need to change to be more effective; to support delivery in more meaningful ways.
We've rounded out what we see as the Top 5 emerging trends (and opportunities) we’ve found for PMOs in 2018, and you can read more about these trends by clicking here.
