The KitchenAid KCM1208 drip coffee maker comes ready assembled, with a reusable filter and built in dosing gauge. It's lightweight and easy to move around, and the removable water tank makes it easy to fill, our reviewer Linda Clayton found.

It's quite big for a drip coffee maker, and is tall too, so you might want to measure the height beneath your cabinet before investing in this machine, As you'd expect from KitchenAid, it's super stylish and looks great on the counter.

It comes with a clean icon that alerts you every 100 cycles that it's time to descale the machine, but the digital control panel is a little busy. This coffee maker is simple to use - just lift the lid, add the ground coffee, fill the water tank and hit start.

We love the 'pause and pour’ feature, which allows you to grab a quick mug of coffee before the full cycle has finished. it's fairly low maintenance thanks to the removable water tank, dishwasher-friendly reusable filter and brew basket.

If you're on a budget you can't go wrong with the Hamilton Beach 49980A. It has two functions single cup or 12-cup pot and is easy to use, but it has limited features and is quite big, so you'll need space on your counter.

The Hamilton Beach 49980A is simple to set up, use and program. The coffee maker has a very obvious and easy-to-use manual switch that selects whether you are brewing a full pot or a single serve. Only one side can be used at a time.

You simply move the switch to the left or right as the illustrations show to select which side you wish to utilize.

With design particularly liked the versatility on offer with this machines design; on one side you can brew a 12-cup pot of coffee, and on the other side, you can separately brew a single cup or a travel mug of coffee to go.

It's bulky and not particularly stylish, but offers good value for money if you want a basic machine that does the job. You can program the clock on the front of the machine as much as 24 hours in advance so you can wake up to freshly brewed coffee, and change the settings from regular or bold strength coffee.

The machine also has a two-hour automatic shut-off function for added safety. The Hamilton Beach 49980A gets to a respectable temperature of 171F, and even after 30 minutes on the warming plate the coffee had only cooled by 4 degrees.

The AeroPress XL is the ideal product for people who want to brew in big batches on the go. It marks a bold leap in coffee innovation, delivering double the volume of the original AeroPress, which has had a cult following since it launched. But is bigger always better?

This coffee maker is as easy to set up and use as the AeroPress original - it's just double the size. The filter sits inside the plastic cap, which is then locked at the bottom of the chamber.

The coffee grounds and water are added to the chamber and left to steep for up to three minutes before the plunger is pushed into the top. This creates the pressure needed to force the coffee through the filter.

The AeroPress XL looks like a handheld blender and isn't the most stylish coffee maker on the market, but it's small enough to keep in a cupboard and doesn't take up much counter space.

It works in the same way as the original AeroPress, but it can hold twice the capacity - up to 20 oz / 590ml of coffee.

The Keurig K-Iced is super compact, affordable and easy to use; we've rated it our best Keurig coffee maker for coffee-over-ice. It comes with a decent 42-oz water reservoir and allows you to brew hot or iced coffee with very little effort.

The heavy use of plastic however gave it a bit of a cheap feel, and the coffee tasted good rather than great. This coffee maker comes fully assembled and almost ready to use straight out of the box. it just needed a quick rinse of the water reservoir and a simple cleaning cycle before first use (total set up time 2-3 mins).

You can put a Keurig filter in the machine to help with hard water, but that is sold separately. This is a super compact and lightweight coffee maker, that is ideal for anyone short on counter space.

It has a lot of plastic elements, which makes us question the longevity of the machine, but it does feel sturdy and solid enough. It has a decent 42-oz water reservoir so you don't need to keep filling it up.

It has a blinking light to indicate when the water needs refilling or the machine needs descaling, which Danielle found useful. This coffee maker is a joy to use; simple and quick. There's no beep at the end to indicate when the coffee is ready, but it's obvious, as the water begins to spit out.

We loved how quickly it brews, too. There is minimal upkeep with the Keurig K-Iced. You just need to refill the water reservoir, wipe clean the machine, bin the K-Cups and empty the drip tray.

The Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker is a budget-friendly machine that has auto programming so you can wake up to a fresh brew. It's a basic no frills machine that is relatively low maintenance and provides a decent cup of Joe.

This is super easy to set up and use for a basic brew. The Mr. Coffee 12 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker’s more advanced features, such as the Delay Brew and Grab-a-Cup Auto Pause function, require a bit of studying the manual first to figure out.

This coffee maker looks like most standard drip machines and doesn't particularly stand out design-wise. It is compact and lightweight, and while the carafe might look small it holds up to 12 cups of coffee.

It has a digital control panel and indicators that let you know what mode the brewer is in, which Alex found helpful. This is a classic drip coffee maker, with some decent features, like the Delay Brew, that make your caffeine routine more streamlined.

You can make a regular or strong brew and we loved the Freshness Timer, which tells you how much time has passed since your coffee finished brewing.

The removable filter basket and carafe are dishwasher friendly, but the water filter disk is not. The water tank is fixed to the machine making it difficult to clean and maintain.
