1) A100 Podcast –?Engaging Storytelling and Sustainability in Associations (with guest Ben Rome)

The A100 Podcast is back in our Top 5 for the second time, and for good reason! In this episode, Ben H. Rome, Director of Communications for the American Bus Association (ABA), brings nearly 30 years of storytelling and strategic communications experience to the table.

Ben shares how storytelling in associations has evolved, emphasizing the importance of authenticity and resonant narratives. (I truly appreciated his expressiveness on the “resonance” portion of this interview. So much of marketing/communicating effectively is creating a message that matters to people.)

His balanced take on using AI to enhance, not replace, human creativity is particularly insightful. Plus, he shares how he leverages analytics to tailor messaging for different audiences, making his communication strategies even more effective.

Ben also highlighted ABA's sustainability initiatives and their impactful Earth Day campaigns. It was fascinating to learn that a bus trip, like the Association Chat Road Trip to ASAE Annual (that Ben will be on!) is actually one of the best eco-friendly ways –?if not THE best eco-friendly way – to travel to an event like that!

2) Association Tech Insider – MMC+Tech Recap! PRECON Breaking Down the Silos: Leveraging Cross-Departmental Collaboration to Enhance Member Value

I loved this episode for its behind-the-scenes look at the MMC+Tech Precon event.

Hosted by Rhoni Rakos, Director of Digital Strategy at fusionSpan, along with Carlos Cardenas, Sr. Director of Information Technology at the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists, Justin Burniske, Principal Consultant and Co-Owner of Meta-Dao, and Gretchen Steenstra, Director of Client Strategy at DelCor Technology Solutions, the discussion dives deep into how they organized the precon event.

They used tools like the RACI Matrix and shared some stories about using an AIA case study which highlighted winning strategies for communicating effectively with members (big hint: keep the project scope tight).

The highlight? Hearing about the improved internal communication among staff, which was crucial in avoiding misunderstandings and ensuring success. This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in cross-departmental collaboration and enhancing member value.

3) Reboot IT – Behind the Scenes at AMS Fest | 501(c) Technology (with guests Norma Castrejon and Gretchen Steenstra)

Get the inside view on all things AMS Fest in this episode of Reboot IT, featuring host Dave Coriale's conversation with senior consultants Norma Castrejon and Gretchen Steenstra from DelCor. With a humorous twist—like Dave's quips about “festers” and "festering wounds"—this episode dives into the unique experience of AMS Fest, an event that's like Coachella for AMS enthusiasts.

(Okay, it’s NOT exactly like Coachella, but it really IS the place to go for those who need/want to focus on all things AMS.)

I love the high-quality conversation AND audio of Reboot IT ALL the time, but this is a great episode to get an honest, humorous, look at what it is to experience AMS Fest.
