Top 4 Most Inspiring Illustrators On Skillshare

Top 4 Most Inspiring Illustrators On Skillshare

First, I just want to say I am not sponsored by Skillshare, or any of these individual artists. I find their material on Skillshare to be exceptional and I was thrilled to share them on my blog. I also don't want any of these artists to feel as though one is better than the other, so I refuse to number them. They are all amazing and their order does not determine how good they are, or how popular.

The first illustrator I would like to introduce is Gemma O'Brian. I discovered her recently and was delighted to say the least.

Gemma O'Brian

Gemma O'Brian, illustrator and letterer, will be speaking at Adobe Max this 2018. Her botanical work is exceptional and inspiring. She shares her process and why she chose illustration over a career in law.

Her tutorials on Skillshare take you through her custom hand lettering process. Check it out here

Jessica Hische

Jessica Hische, author of the Daily Drop Cap series which launched her name into the design world, now has a series on Skillshare that is truly inspirational. I discovered her Skillshare videos after browsing on the illustration section of Skillshare. She now has more videos available and other series for designers.

Recently I also discovered her book, In Progress which is cleverly written and gives insight into a typographic designer's process. I think every designer or aspiring designer should have this book in their library. You can see them here

Melanie Greenwood

Melanie Greenwood, is also an exceptional designer. She has a great series on "How to Find Your Niche Design Style" on Skillshare and several other series. I discovered her Skillshare courses and because they are so well branded I decided to take the Instagram Accelerator course on her personal website.

She takes you through her experience of working a 9-5 job and transitioning to owning her own business. She provides video training modules on social media that will walk you through how to set up your account and make it successful, depending on which social media platform you intend to use. Take a look at her modules here

Peggy Dean

Another designer who has really inspired me to not give up on the design field is Peggy Dean. She discusses being self taught and switching careers. I highly recommend listening to her inspirational session on following your passion. Most of us feel if we don't go to art school we won't be good enough. Just check out her Skillshare talk here if you're in need of a little boost.
