The Top 30 That Changed Many Lives!
1. Unscripted and conversational delivery naturally attracts.
2. Look, don’t think! Observe everything and everyone.
3. Don’t memorize, recognize!
4. Create correct content for your own introduction, and prepare your introducer.
5. Know your audience and their interests, needs, and wants.
6. Write down a concise summary of your presentation objective and product or call to action.
7. Construct your framework (outline) before filling in the details.
8. Design an attention-getting opening.
9. Build your credibility by gathering detailed support for your key points.
10. Craft a climactic, compelling, and memorable conclusion.
11. Use transitions to make your points connect well and flow smoothly.
12. Never end a presentation with a Q&A period.
13. Less is more. Edit your presentation.
14. PowerPoint slides are visual aids, not the core of your presentation, and they are most effective when they contain minimal copy.
15. An inspiring story from your personal experience creates impact, raises trust, and imbues your presentation with humor.
16. You will enhance your audience reach if you utilize benefit statements throughout your presentation.
17. Varying voice, body movement, pace, and attitude dissolves monotony.
18. Engaging the audience to interact creates more involvement and positive impact.
19. A Q&A period should be used to support and fortify your call to action.
20. Outwardly express appropriate emotion and physicality to move your audience to take action.
21. Get your audience to contemplate the consequences of doing nothing versus taking action.
22. Evaluate your audience based on the two basic motivations: achieving pleasure and resisting pain.
23. Observe your audience and listen attentively to them during your presentation—that’s the mark of a great speaker.
24. Adopting a martial arts mentality and resisting nothing will always solve the problem of a difficult audience.
25. Practice your speech in front of a person or a camera but never in front of a mirror, as speaking to yourself is introverting.
26. Always keep in mind the three key connections when practicing or delivering your speech live: A) speaker connected to message; B) speaker connected to audience; C) message connected to audience.
27. Continually impinging on your audience is crucial for an “impact” presentation.
28. Cultivating a comfortable on-camera presence depends on recognizing the distance between you and the camera.
29. Create a logistics checklist prior to your speech to ensure all necessities are in place and backups are available.
30. Never give a presentation or deliver to an audience you have little or no interest in. Integrity is your beacon!
