The Top 3 Things I Learned as an Inman Connect Ambassador

Last week in San Francisco I attended Inman Connect as an Ambassador! After meeting several of the Ambassadors at Connect in New York I was inspired to participate as one and when I received the news that I was selected I was #SoExcited!
This real estate conference was a whirlwind of uber-savvy professionals, parties, fresh ideas, and enthusiasm all rolled into one powerful experience. My 'Top Things I Learned List' could easily be 100, but here are my top 3.
1. Don't Be Shy. As an Ambassador I felt like I was given permission to approach people, introduce myself, and engage in conversations. I kind of felt like I was the hostess of my own party...and that felt really good. The people I connected with were CEO's, agents, inventors, entrepreneurs, marketing specialists, computer geeks, vendors, and of course, the other Ambassadors. The conversations were lively and the exchange of ideas was fascinating.
2. Have a Time Management Strategy. This conference is packed with sessions, speakers, meetings, and parties, and you will be running from one event to the next. Make a list of the people you would like to meet, know the time and place of the parties, and download the Connect App asap...it rocks!
3. Ask Questions! It's okay if you don't know everything because learning the ropes is half the fun. The Ambassadors wore bright, yellow badges and I was asked a lot of logistical questions by the attendees. "Where is the Imperial Ballroom?", "What time is the Dotloop party?", "How do I meet Brad Inman?", etc. This was a great way to connect with people too. Thank goodness for the veteran Ambassadors. They were a wealth of information for us newbies, and I did ask them a lot of questions.
Attending an Inman Connect conference is an eye-opening experience regardless of what hat (or badge) you wear. When you go remember to have fun, make the most of every moment, and connect! See you in #NewYork!
