Top 3 Superintendents in Charlotte

Top 3 Superintendents in Charlotte

A recent project had me thinking. It’s easy to point out the faults of others, especially during stressful and trying times. We’ve all had those projects that run smooth, and then there’s those that are in the ditch. It’s a delicate balance for a project manager to execute a project according to plan. One major factor can be the other players on the team that you’re not in charge of. It can seem more like a wild card at times. Take a general contractor as an example, the superintendent is key to your success because of the other trades that encompass the scope and prerequisites for your work. If scope and schedule don’t match up properly it can make for a bumpy road, however, it can be quite the opposite if things are done the right way.

There are three superintendents that I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years that stick out in my mind. I would consider them to be the best in Charlotte.

John Thomas, Barringer Construction

Drew Cook, Balfour Beatty Construction

Tom Arrigo, DPR Construction

There does seem to be a common denominator to these guys. They all have positive attitudes, they’re organized, they communicate well, and they don’t let others see their stress. They instill confidence in others when talking because they take the time to understand the details of what is needed. I’m sure there’s a lot more involved that they do behind the scenes that makes them successful, but these guys are the best.
