Top 3 Key Points Every Job Seeker MUST UNDERSTAND ????

In these high competitive days it is not enough to "meet the bare minimum requirements". Employers are hunting for candidates who are advancing themselves in their concentrated industry. A lot of you who are seeking for jobs do understand till this part but, do you understand how to properly show case yourself to prove they are that one potential candidate for an open position?

Here are 5 ways you can flash yourself to employers that are your not just at the "Bare Minimum" but your are something more, A candidate who stepped out of the box that attract employers to consider for your dream role!

  1. Stage Your Work

  • Every minute you invest to grow your knowledge in your respected industry is counted as experience. You do not necessarily need 9 -5 Job to make it count as experience, always be open for projects, part time, and freelance work. The truth is, you likely do have experience. Think beyond traditional job experience—did you participate in any internships or perform any volunteer work during your schooling? Did you use your skills to help a friend with anything that can serve as a work sample (perhaps some website design, writing, data entry, etc.)? Add them to your resume.
  • There are plenty of online platforms where you can stage all your work, almost like an online resume such as Github, Wix, and Adobe portfolio. Don't just do a project, gain a good grade and close the project, it is always important to flash it out to the market in proper format and at high standards to make yourself be on top of the line. This will allow employers to understand that you have always been career oriented and not just while searching for a job as there is a timeline of when you did the projects or freelance work.

2. Social Media

  • Before you even submit your application, it’s imperative to clean up your social media profiles. It’s estimated that?94% of recruiters?will search for you on social media to evaluate you as a candidate before even studying the resume completely.
  • Look at your profiles and review?them from an HR perspective. Are there any photos, posts, or likes you might feel embarrassed by a potential employer seeing? Use privacy settings to make your profiles private, and delete anything questionable. Ensure you have some professional accounts as well. LinkedIn and Twitter are great platforms to use professionally and can connect with others and show off your industry expertise.

3. The RIGHT Network

  • Regardless of how strong of a GPA you have, or how much of an experience you have put on paper, your professional network defines another level. Stay connected with the RIGHT network not just any. Your network clearly defines an employer on

WHO? WHAT? WHERE? and WHY?

you are in the your industry. Networking isn’t usually a crowd favorite, but who know matters. Some studies have found that?85% of jobs are filled by networking.

  • If you’re just out of college or high school, your connections from school are fresh. Start with professors, mentors, and school staff to see if they can guide you to a company or job.?
  • If you are experienced candidate, your connections are with equally experienced as you or even higher that are in similar industry. Connect with colleagues and Ask for recommendations. And if any of them have a direct contact or connection to a job or company, ask for a referral. This will set you well ahead of those who apply without a personal contact or referral.
