Top 3 DIEting Mistakes

I hate daylight savings as much as the next and I find myself tired, frustrated and seeking comfort food because it's colder and dark at 5pm (what the heck man)!
So here are some mistakes that a majority of my clients deal with as they hunker down through the atrocious long evenings and tips to improve that for you.
MISTAKE #1... Going all in or nothing! Let's face it, you crawled before you walked, so throwing out everything and eating chicken & broccoli everyday is going to suck and not sustainable! So, start with a smaller change such as no dessert after dinner or using a smaller plate to manage serving size versus a large dinner plate and double the serving (because as our mothers told us "the starving children in africa would love to have it" hence we cleaned out plate and over ate)
MISTAKE #2... Change everything at once! Again, you didn’t get uncomfortable overnight, so setting yourself up for failure and frustration is no fun. Start small or simple, go for a 30 min walk after dinner or before you get home and the chaos starts or cut out dessert after dinner (keep it to 2x a week) and see how those small changes improve your mindset and how you feel!

MISTAKE #3... following a diet you hate! Time to step off the Insanity Train (doing the same thing as last month, time or year and expecting something different). Or trying to follow another fad diet or one that Marg told you worked for her and you are hating life, the crap you are choking down and not seeing any differences. DIEts are just that.... feeling like your dying in the name of fat loss instead of intuitive eating to fuel the body at the age and activity level you're at now (not what worked in your 20's, I know it sucks but you're worth it).
