Top 12 Questions to Start your Virtual Meetings on a Positive Note
Virtual Check-Ins are a compelling new way to keep you connected with your colleagues uninterruptedly. You can develop lasting camaraderie by allowing your team to connect with you one-on-one in a team setting.
Despite using a pretty straightforward principle of work, virtual check-ins are incredibly fruitful. I consider them a valuable way of conducting weekly team meetings. Though each teammate gets 2 minutes to speak, it’s enough to create a profound impression.
However, virtual check-ins are not as easy as you may think. A successful check-in is an art very few can master. You can be the one if you follow my tips.
TIP: Craft your questions in a format that people can answer within 2 minutes!
Our Check-In routine:
Here are the tips and tricks we always follow to hold productive and successful virtual meetings.
- Start the Team meeting with some Music to spend the time while people are joining in.
- Set the stage for a collaborative meetup by briefly explaining company values, mission, beliefs, and weekly recognition.
- Allow the person who has prepared the Check-In question to read it aloud for the team and then post it on chat.
- Let the person who has asked the question, answer it for themselves first, and then ask the other group member to answer it.
- Employ a sequential approach when people are answering questions to pay attention to each one’s answer properly.
- Ask your team to keep passing the question in turns until all members have answered the question.
- In the end, invite the person who prepared the Check-In question to nominate someone else from the team to prepare them for the next meeting.
TIP: Run the check-in in a rotational style to drive engagement and create a pleasant atmosphere.
