Top 11 Tips for an Efficient Work From Home Schedule
Considering the rise of confirmed Covid-19 cases, many companies have decided to allow their employees to work from home (WFH). Working from home sounds easy and more relaxed, but remember you still have got deadlines to meet and tasks to complete. The WFH schedule may continue to be implemented in the future despite the disappearance of Covid-19, so it is important that you know how to work from home efficiently.
Below are many great tips that will help you to achieve this.
1) Have breakfast:?You should always have breakfast to keep your energy level high. We have got to admit that we cannot be productive when we are hungry. Adding to the breakfast a glass of juice or a cup of tea/coffee would be refreshing.??
2) Starting time:?Even if you work from home, you still have to work technically 8 hours a day as if you worked in your typical office, so please start and end your work at the same time. You should set an alarm clock if that is what you do every working day.
3) Dress code:?Why do you have to dress properly when working from home? Well, first you will feel like it is your typical working day. Second, it is to prevent you from going back to bed or feeling too much relaxed with your pajamas, which decreases the level of productivity.
4) Online team briefing:?It is crucial to virtually meet your team and Line Manager for at least 20-30 minutes before starting work. This gives you an opportunity to discuss your to-do list and expected work results by the end of the day.
5) To-do list:?To keep track of your daily tasks, it is highly recommended that you create a to-do list along with time allocation and deadlines. This helps you to set up your goals of the day and increase your productivity.

6) Break sessions:?Even a machine needs to rest, so you have to do too.?HRINC Jobs?recommends that you take a 15-minute break in the morning and another 15-minute break in the afternoon. Also, during your lunch break (60-90 minutes), you should be away from your smart phone and computer as your body and eyes need to relax. However, you may listen to music if it helps you relax better.
7) Get some sunlight:?It can be depressing to stay in a close space for several hours. You?should get out of your room and get some sunlight and fresh air during each 15-minute break recommended above.
8)?Stay hydrated:?Simply saying, you should not forget to drink enough water throughout the day. It is simply healthy.
9) Music background:?For many people (and me), relaxing music helps them feel relaxed and focused. Also, it is important not to feel lonely in a quiet room. You may play it with a speaker or use a pair of earphones.
10) Working space:?Not all of us have working space or a desk at home. If you have one, that is great. If you do not, you should set up one that is spacious and organised enough for your working purposes. Working on your bed is not recommended as you may get lazy, lie down and finally fall asleep. Your napping time is during lunch.
11).?Take care of your eyes:?Even when working at your office, you always need to have a moderate level of screen brightness, so please do not set it too low or too bright, but at a good level that you feel comfortable with.
