As we enter the final quarter of the year, we reflect on the game-changing contract wins that made waves in the industry throughout September.
Emphasising innovation, sustainability, and economic diversification, the latest construction contracts highlight the industry’s continued progress and pave the way for transformative developments in the coming months.
Some companies that stood out last month include Lantania, Dutco Construction, Red Sea International, Saipem, Al Turath Al Aseel Contracting, and Dar Al-Handasah Consultants.
1.?Dar Al Aayan Contracting: Woodland Residences
Scope of work: Main contractor
Value: $115 million
Luxury real estate developer AMIS has awarded the main construction contract for its highly anticipated $115 million (AED425 million) Woodland Residences project to Dar Al Aayan Contracting. Due to overwhelming demand following the unveiling of the project in January 2024, the project was 100% sold out within one week of its launch.

2.?Lantania: NEOM biosolids treatment facility
Scope of work: Turnkey EPC contract
Lantania, a leading Spanish group specialising in infrastructure, water, and energy, has won the contract to build a state-of-the-art biosolids treatment facility in?NEOM , Saudi Arabia’s groundbreaking futuristic city located in the northwest.
The turnkey EPC contract, awarded as part of the upgrade for the Al-Badaa Water Recycling Plant, will see Lantania collaborate with Saudi partner Tawzea to design, construct, and commission the facility, which includes an innovation and demonstration centre. The facility will use cutting-edge technologies such as a Sequential Biological Reactor (SBR) and solar drying to treat sludge from a nearby wastewater recycling plant.
3.?Dutco Construction: Gran Meliá Hotel – Dubai Jumeirah
Scope of work: Main contractor
ASB Hospitality has officially appointed Dutco Construction as the main contractor for the highly anticipated Gran Meliá Hotel – Dubai Jumeirah.
This project marks the first beachfront property under the Gran Meliá brand in the UAE, promising to be a landmark addition to Dubai’s luxury hospitality sector.
Situated on the prime headland of Port De La Mer in Jumeirah, the development spans a total plot area of 31,066 sqm. It will feature a gross floor area (GFA) of 42,522 sqm and a built-up area of 88,909 sqm. The resort’s design includes 2B+G+P+4+R structures that offer stunning, uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf from three sides, along with panoramic vistas of the iconic Dubai skyline, establishing it as a prized jewel along Dubai’s coastline.

4.?Red Sea International subsidiary: Modern Building Leaders Co. project
Scope of work: Supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP and infrastructure works
Value: $405.5 million
Modern Building Leaders Co. (MBL) has awarded a contract worth $405.5 million (SAR1.52 billion) for mechanical, engineering, plumbing (MEP) and infrastructure works.
In a filling to the Saudi bourse Tadawul on Wednesday, Red Sea International said its subsidiary The Fundamental Installation for Electric Work Co. Ltd. (also known as “First Fix) signed a contract on 11 September with MBL to execute MEP and infrastructure works on one of its projects.
The scope of work includes ?the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and infrastructure works, and is expected to be completed in 19 months.
11.?Saipem: Marjan, Zuluf, and Safaniyah oil and gas fields
Scope of work: Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI)
Value: $1 billion
Italy’s engineering firm specialising in engineering and construction has secured two offshore contracts from Saudi Arabia’s Aramco.
The contracts are worth $1 billion combined and are part of an existing 12-year agreement signed in 2020 between Aramco and Saipem for the provision of engineering and construction services.
The two new contracts cover engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of infrastructure, including subsea pipelines, at the Marjan, Zuluf, and Safaniyah oil and gas fields.
