Top 10 Ways to Improve Twitter

@elonmusk I'm sure you have a ton of plans in motion, but just in case…here’s my tips to improve Twitter. Feel free to use these. Hit me up if you need a hand.

#1 Why are people disappointed in FB/IG? It’s because their posts don’t get seen by their followers. On IG we had 50k followers and posts got 100k views. Now we have 150k followers and get 10k views on a good day. Now TikTok comes along and tons of people going are going viral*, so tons of people are migrating there. Why not let your more quality content get seen??

*I know this is short lived for TikTok. Get them hooked, then pull the rug out. But imagine if Twitter just let my followers see my posts and it wasn’t short lived.?

#2 Also I never see friends posts. What if when I follow someone I can rate them 1-5? Everyone I follow starts at 1. If I really like them, I give them a 5. The 5s show up first. Then 4s…3s…2s…1s. That way I have some say in what I see.

#3 It’s so hard to find people on Twitter. Make it easier to search for Name, City, Job and College. Link to their other social accounts, now everyone will come to Twitter first…basically a white pages directory.

#4 Don’t get hung up on charging celebs for Verified Checks. Charge lower tier influencers. People with legit profiles that aren’t famous would love the check. The majority of celebs that have it prob don’t use Twitter themselves anyways. Their teams run it. You can still be selective who you give verifications to, so it won’t dilute the importance of the verifications.

#5 3rd Party Twitter Log In. I can log into a ton of 3rd party sites with my Gmail. Why can’t I log into retailers with my Twitter so my mailing address and bank info are already entered in? Maybe retailers can offer some additional incentive…$5 off your order when you log in with Twitter.

#6 You are already aware of this, but bots suck. You need to figure out how to get rid of fake spammy accounts. Try to start with blocking phishing links.

#7 Get rid of dormant accounts. IE the ones that opened in 2009 and haven’t made more than 3 posts? People are dying?to swoop up these handles. Also if you can do me a solid. @TheBestDrinkEver is one character too long. @TBDE looks to be one character too short or suspended. Anything you can do to help?

#8 Do what FB does. When IG started competing with them they bought them out. When Snapchat started competing they created IG Stories. When TikTok came around they created Reels. Try new stuff. Copy competitor features. If that fails, just buy Reddit.?

#9 Sports fans love Twitter. Run with that. It would be great to see more real time integration. Amazon’s Thursday Night Football or NBA League Pass would be the perfect fit to integrate connected TV. ?Advertisers are looking for opportunities to create a connect experience, live sports is likely the best chance to pull that off.

#10 Produce a show to explain What’s Trending. 90% of the time it’s pretty confusing to figure out why something is trending. A simple 30–60 second video about the trending topic would be amazing.?People would come to you first to see what all is the drama is about.?
