Understanding the significant advantages that cloud computing brings to companies, individuals, and the tech community as a whole, AWS offers certification programs. These programs aim to confirm a person's understanding and ability in cloud computing. The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification is the starting point for this journey. It's designed to provide a foundational and thorough knowledge of the AWS cloud, making it a crucial part of any AWS Certification Guide. It is ideal for people new to IT, those just beginning their AWS Cloud career, or individuals working alongside AWS Cloud professionals, and for those seeking to join a team of AWS solutions experts.
In my career, first as a Sales Professional and later as a Delivery Head at August Infotech, an offshore development company, getting to grips with cloud computing skills was essential. It enabled me to understand better what our clients needed and to offer more effective solutions. Preparing for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certificate while managing my daily work was challenging. The first few weeks saw little progress as I hoped to find spare time to study. But with focus and a well-thought-out AWS Study Plan, I started on an eight-week journey, using ten essential tips, to prepare for and successfully pass the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification exam.
My ten tips for excelling in the AWS Cloud Practioner Exam.
1. Explore AWS Website: I began by visiting the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner page. This step was critical to understanding the exam's scope and the materials available for preparation, ensuring I took my time scheduling the exam before being ready.
2. Exam Guide Review: Next, I focused on the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02) Exam Guide, paying close attention to the content domains and their weightage to guide my study efforts, aligning with the AWS Exam Preparation guidelines.
3. Follow AWS Ramp-Up Guide: I followed the AWS Ramp-Up Guide: Cloud Essentials to structure my studies. The guide is designed to clarify the fundamentals of cloud computing.
4. Set Study Schedule: With an understanding of the time required, I scheduled the exam date and set a fixed daily study time, blocking time in my calendar. I informed my friends and family about my study schedule to minimize distractions.
5. Explore AWS Skill Builder: During this week, I explored additional free courses on the AWS Skill Builder, utilizing the AWS Training Resources. This was particularly useful for areas where I needed more in-depth study.
6. Enroll in AWS Cloud Quest: To gain practical experience, I enrolled in the AWS Cloud Quest: Cloud Practitioner course. This hands-on practice was essential for applying theoretical knowledge. I also prepared concise notes during this week for quick revision later.
7. Attend AWS Events: I kept an eye on the AWS Training and Certification Events page for online webinars, which sometimes offer discounts on exam registration.
8. Mock Tests: I took mock tests like the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Official Practice Question Set (CLF-C01 - English) and Exam Prep Standard Course: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-C02 - English) to assess my preparedness for the exam. Based on the results, I focused more on areas where I needed improvement.
9. Exam Requirements Review: In the final week, I reviewed all the exam requirements I had received in the email upon booking the exam..
10. Relaxation and Final Advice: I avoided last-minute studying, giving myself a few calm hours before the exam. It's essential to notice this step, as it helps consolidate learning and approach the exam.
Closing Thoughts:
Based on my experience, I recommend using the material provided on the AWS website as your primary resource for preparation. Additionally, consider exploring other websites for supplementary understanding. However, I have always appreciated the importance of Mock Tests for AWS. These tests highlight areas needing improvement and guide you to ensure your readiness for the certification exams. I achieved the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification on my first attempt by combining these strategies with a dedicated study schedule.
My journey towards the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner Certification reflected the learning culture at August Infotech.
