Summer is here, and with it comes warmer weather, more sunshine, and vacation! We all somehow come to a tacit agreement to slow down, to stop and smell the roses, and to step away from our inbox a bit. It’s the perfect time to start a good book, pick up a new hobby, or listen to all the podcasts you’ve been meaning to check out!?
I love podcasts; they’re a great companion to a road trip, walk or long flight. Not every podcast is education, but I’ve learned so much from listening to those that are. There are podcasts for just about everything, and when it comes to business, you have thousands of choices. Here are a few of my (mostly business) favorites:
Tired of morning TV, but still love a daily snapshot of what is happening in the world? This will be right up your alley. Hosts Neal Freyman and Toby Howell will give you a witty recap of the day’s must-know business news.?
In The Diary of a CEO, host Steven Bartlett sits down with some of the world’s influential people and picks their brains about a variety of topics. While it is technically a business podcast, his fascinating guests are incredibly diverse, from CIA agents to Harvard professors to celebrities. Many episodes also touch on health and fitness. I love listening to this, but I preferred to watch it in video form on YouTube.?
Check this out: “The Exercise Neuroscientist” with Dr. Wendy Suzuki
In Wisdom from the top, Guy Raz talks to leadership experts and the visionary leaders of some of the world's biggest brands. These are stories that didn't make it into their company bios, and contain many valuable lessons. I really enjoy listening to personal stories, and I find that learning about others’ experiences is a powerful way to learn.?
Check this out: Episode #132, “Leading from ‘We’ not ‘I’” with David Novak.
This enlightening podcast is designed with entrepreneurs and CEOs in mind, offering advice on how to grow your business and develop people. I really love hearing stories from other CEOs about overcoming challenges, failures, how they handled growth and more. I love the questions that podcast host Steve Sanduski, CFP? comes up with. He draws out exactly what you are wondering about.
Check this out: “Greg Coticchia: Here’s How to Master New Product Development and Build a Culture of Innovation.”?
The HBR IdeaCast is a great business podcast, covering a broad range of topics, and featuring?the leading thinkers in business and management. The guests are often leading professors, and the information discussed on this show is invaluable for any leader (or aspiring leader).?
Check this out: Episode 961, “A Roadmap for Today’s Entrepreneurs”

What’s not to love about Adam Grant ? The organizational psychologist interviews fascinating and unusual professionals to discover the keys to a better work life. Or in his words, “how to make work not suck.” I really like the aspects of mental health, which can play a huge role in the workplace.?
Check this out: “How to be Productive Without Burning Out”
If you’re looking for something a little different, check out My First Million. Featuring real stories about current businesses, hosts Sam Parr and Shaan Puri brainstorm new business ideas, based on the trends and opportunities they see in the market. They often bring on famous guests to brainstorm with them. It’s a fascinating listen!
Check this out: Episode 565, “The Underdog Story of Reddit”
If you’re a fan of Dan Harris ’s book, 10% Happier, his podcast is a must-listen! His book was one of our company book club books and I really appreciated his story and content around emotional. He interviews experts on wellbeing, from eminent meditation teachers and top scientists to the occasional celebrity.
Check this out: Episode 767, “The Science of Overcoming Perfectionism w/Thomas Curran”
The longtime #1 business podcast (and sometimes the #1 podcast, period), The Tim Ferriss Show is where to go to hear from the most popular writers, celebrities, business leaders and more! They talk about everything from favorite books to improving your time-management, extracting tips, tools, and routines you can use to improve your life and your work.??
Check this out: Episode #721, “Master Negotiator William Ury”
The Heart of Business is one of the most authentic business podcasts out there, delving into the personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs that have shaped the careers of a variety of thought leaders and other professionals. Host Mo Fathelbab uses an empathetic, warm approach, which allows him to draw out hard truths and vulnerabilities, revealing the emotional and often unseen dimensions of success in the corporate world. It’s a deep look at the human side of leadership that will draw you in.?
Check this out: Season 1, Episode 4, “Physiology and the Power of Connect w/Christina Harbridge”
