Top 10 Internet Myths that you might believe

The internet truly is a wonderland of fun, information and misinformation. With so much data flying about, it is easy to lose track. And that is why I am here today to debunk the most common myth on the internet which everyone thinks is true.

1. However, You Can Never Trust Online

Though misinformation and scams are present, labeling everything on the internet would be wrong. There are many websites and resources to help you fact-check info. Just remember to trust only official sites or educational websites. The same applies when you are searching information on the web, not everything is true!

2. Not all wi-fi signals are equal

Can you believe that Wi-Fi is not the same wherever! Though, most will think otherwise assuming all wireless internet speeds are equal when they have wifi signal. For example, there are separate standards such as 802.11n and 802.11ac that have different speeds and strengths about them. Wi-Fi signals also come in different horsepower ratings just as cars do!

3. All Devices Require Antivirus Software

The drugs are free antivirus software for all devices, but not always fully necessary. Although computers and laptops are still greatly assisted by the security software, not as much can be said for your humble smartphone or tablet which already have built-in protections to cut down on viruses. Mandatory always keeping your software updated, which in many cases will no longer need another program for all devices.

4. ?Deleting Files Means They're Gone Forever

Have you ever tried deleting your Digital Footprint? It’s harder than you think! If you know that when you delete files these will still be in the recycle bin phase, After deletion, however they may still remain on hard drives till rewritten. It's comparable to trying to erase pencil/crayon marks from paper, with some of it still matted in the fibers underneath.

5. Megapixels Just Means Better Photos

Many people think that more megapixels mean higher quality photos. Yes higher the megapixels more details you can have on your pictures but lens quality, lightening and other DDR factors play a great role. That is like saying a large pizza tastes better than small ones, however the topping does matter sometimes!

6. Social Media Is Just for Kids

This myth is common but misguided. TikTok targets the millennial age while Facebook and LinkedIn are often used by adults), a quarter of marketing executives and market leaders.. There are countless 30+ year-olds spending time online chatting with others, sharing news and ideas. Like a crowd at a concert, thinking it's just for kids (or worse, that nobody important is taking part).

7. No Storage of Private Browsing

It is good that you are using private browsing, but do not think of it as a bulletproof solution. The feature is designed to help avoid your browser saving a history of sites you visit, but the tool does not protect against tracking by Internet service providers (ISPs), websites, or even employers. Just because you're in your own room doesn't mean nobody can hear you!

8. No One Cares About Spelling on the Internet

Think spelling “definitely” rather than correctly will go over everybody's heads? Think again! Typos and grammatical errors damage your credibility. These are things you want to consider, especially when trying not to be laughed at or taken seriously. You (and your team) have shown up looking like you are wearing beachwear to a job interview; image is everything.

9. A Good Password Is Secure

A strong password will help but it is not enough. A lot of you guys are probably saying to yourselves Yup use a really good, difficult-to-guess password. Install Two-Factor Authentication You would not only have a lock on your door, but you also want to have security.

10. The Faster Internet, The Better Streaming

More isn’t always better. Having fast internet doesn't mean, faster the transmission in this few points is enough to get high speed of streaming and buffering your videos Either the quality of a device, distance to the router or number of users can all have an impact on its speed. Think of it as having a sports car in heavy rush-hour traffic; after all, speed is nothing without the ability to get where you need.

Conclusion

There is a lot of spreading misinformation online, but the best way to beat back this mythology is with education. Clearing up the air on these myths can help in better navigating through this digital terrain. The scientific evidence has debunked all of the above claimed methods and next time anyone even whispers something about you consuming honey, it is your turn to tell them that they are simply bat-crazy.
