Top 10 chatGPT Prompts to Boost Productivity (According chatGPT Itself) - Or How A Good Prompt Can Help You Get More Out of AI Solutions

Prompt engineering is one of the hot topics in the AI space. Crafting a good prompt will yield better results, narrowing down or expanding what AI returns to you.

There are new career paths for prompt engineers, solutions dedicated to prompt engineering, curricula to familiarize people with the ins and outs of this new discipline.

Prompt: "What are the top 10 chatGPT prompts to boost productivity?"

This isn't what you'd call an amazing prompt, it's generic. Boosting productivity in what way? For what kind of user (a stay-at-home parent? a novelist? a software developer?)...? However, this prompt still yielded some good general results below.

Boosting productivity with ChatGPT requires using prompts that are clear, specific, and tailored to your needs. Here are ten effective ChatGPT prompts to help enhance productivity:

  1. Task Planning: "Please help me create a detailed plan for completing [specific task or project] by [deadline]."

  3. Time Management: "Provide me with a daily schedule or time-blocking plan to optimize my workday, balancing tasks and breaks."
  4. Problem Solving: "Help me brainstorm solutions for the issue I'm facing in [describe the problem or challenge]."
  5. Research Assistance: "Find and summarize key information on [topic] from reliable sources, including relevant statistics and recent developments."
  6. Content Generation: "Generate a draft for a blog post/article/presentation on [topic], including a clear outline and main points."

Now I asked specific question with the a persona, a situation, and some parameters to further limit my results. Notice how much more useful the results are to my specific case. These results actually led to my discovering new tools I can have on my product manager utility belt:

Prompt: As a new product manager, I am struggling to find the right AI solutions to help me craft my product roadmaps more efficiently so I can stay productive. Please suggest 5 AI solutions for product managers to help me with this situation.

I'll leave you with some principles to keep in mind when writing your own prompts, according to the Perplexity AI research tool.

When engineering a prompt for an AI chat bot, there are several principles to keep in mind. Here are the top 5 principles based on the search results:

  1. Be specific about the output you want and include examples of the type of output you want at the prompt[5].
  2. Craft effective prompts for different purposes and goals[3].
  3. Use prompts tailored to target specific tasks[2].
  4. Show examples that are similar to the data you’re working with to produce better outputs[3].
  5. Be forgiving and patient, and treat the bot as if it were a human intern[1].

While I tend to agree with some experts that believe as AI gets more advanced, this discipline is in many ways going to attract less interest as a segment of the AI frenzy, writing a good prompt can be the difference between getting a subpar generic answer or the specific output you need to get your creativity and productivity a head start.

Thanks for sharing Enzo Silva I observe that in order to craft a quality article, we need a good prompt when we have to meticulously list the goals, missions, style and role of the AI. This actually takes a longer time for me to finalize the article and potentially could affect the efficiency of my work. So is there a better way to spend lesser time on prompts but able to craft an equally quality article? Thank you once again.
