Top 10 articles found during research of Change and Governance

In the last months I have been doing a lot of research for various casestudies and papers that I am writing. I am something of a hoarder when it comes to information and have filled up my organiser Kanban board with all sorts of interesting articles and links to be explored 'later'. But it is time to clean out my virtual hoard and share some really interesting tidbits I have found on my self development journey. Welcome to a new vitual treasure trove of inspiring articles and links to unforetold riches, ok the last it is not but if you like knowledge maybe it could be :-)

  1. Setting the rules of the road, article by MIT Sloan on creating digital platforms that can help us mitigate the risks involved in change: Link
  2. The science of cognitive states, an article by Richard Huskey. Furthering the work of Psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi's?research on flow ?started in the 1970s, he talks about the state of flow we can feel when a task's?challenge is balanced with one's skill : Link
  3. This really is a treasure troove of videos on Change and governance created by the Global Institute of Organisational development network. There is so much interesting content here that I am still working my way through. Link
  4. Kanbanize offer a really simple but effective introduction on Kaizen and concepts of continuous improvement. A a change manager, I find a lot of my work relates to change in the project form. But continuous improvement along with incremental change methods support a more holistic picture of change in an organisation. By accepting these possibilities we actually gain more strategic choices for how we deal with change in the organisation. This is the basis and premise for ChangeOps my lastest research and paper coming soon! Link

  6. Mergers represent an enormous operational and cultural change for employees. Culture is a major player here and too often neglected in the rush to get a new acquisition functioning and earning back its dues. A great read from McKinsey, Link
  7. Here is a second link to another article by McKinsey on M&A in Asia. M&A or mergers and acquisitions is a big interest of mine due to the amount of disruption we often see. Its creates events of total organisational shift and some of the largest more complex change happenings out there. If you consider the unique cultures we have in the world and particularly the less understood (for westerners) Asian culture, this article explores how Asia is growing an M&A culture Link
  8. A new research by MIT Sloan management review into Business ecosystems: Link
  9. This link is for those interested in getting a first taste of Enterprise resource planning and what this can mean for the digitalisation of governance structures in organisations. Link
  10. Agile is agile right? Well there is Agile and agile in the organisation landscape today, along with different methods that make use of Agile methodology. everything from Scrum to Kanban, SAFe and AgilePM. This webinar discusses the difference between Scrum and Kanban, Link
