Tools, the great slaves but dangerous masters!

Since his creation, human beings started developing tools to create comfort and ease in living their life. Ages are still know by the tools, men created for themselves like stone age, metal age, agricultural age, industrial age and now the age of technology and internet. Tools are great inventions of homo sapiens and are an expression of their creativity and curiosity.
The inventions of tools have always been a result of a problem and quest for finding its solution. The popular cliche "Invention is the mother of necessity" points towards this fact. So, the human being has always been and probably will always be in struggle for creating and designing newer tools to create ease and comfort.
Now, as long as these tools are under his control, they are valuable and commendable. But, there is an inherent defect in man-made tools and as soon as they get out of the control of their own creator, they become uncontrollable and can even kill their own creator. The same stone with which man learnt to lit fire was used to scrunch the head of fellow beings, the same fire, which helped human protect them self from the attack of fierce animals caused to wipe forest after forests.
Modern age is full of tools. Technology is a tool and if this remains under control, it can do wonders. Not only a persons can benefit himself but it can also be a source of betterment for the millions of people around. But, if the same tool starts being master of someone, the destruction of the "victim" is certain. If you are not clear and you don't know how technology works, in that case, only the ocean of google will consume your all time as if some hungry consumes the plate of a food. In that case, this tool is your master and you being the slave. Social media, although, a very useful tool yet if you are unaware of its proper use, you will loose the biggest treasure of your life "the time" in no time. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Snap-chat, YouTube all are powerful tools, which can be used effectively for personal branding and spreading your voice, but if mindlessly used can ruin the crunch time of your life. Now, the question is: Are your using them to achieve your personal goals or you are being used by these tools and ultimately serving the interests of their creators?
Car is also a wonderful tool and if someone knows driving can enjoy a comfortable ride to reach desired destination, but if it gets out of control, God forbade, that person if not killed will certainly visit hospital! Money is also a super great invention of human beings, which initially was created for comfort, and probably it is the single most important invention of humans in the modern world, which empowers one to buy all other tools and if this remains under control to be used for the men's own comfort and ease and also for the welfare of fellow beings , it can do wonders but if it becomes master of someone, that person will be unhappy and not only a trouble for himself but certainly will affect the happiness of his relationships. What is money? and how one can leverage from its power is a separate topic and you can certainly educate your self by reading Robert Kiyosaki's book "Rich Dad,Poor Dad".
Some tools are given to us by the Mighty Allah and these tools are matchless, priceless and a source of wonder for many. But before discussing these tools, let me share few anecdotes.Socrates was a great philosopher and is considered the father of dialectic-ism, who taught humanity to reason and ask question. He was sentenced to drink the bowel of poison. On his last moments, his disciples gathered around him and asked," Where shall we bury you Socrates?" He replied while smiling, " Where can you bury me? you will just bury my body". Bulhay Shah, a folk poet and Sufi from Pakistan writes, " O Bulhaya! I won't die, the one in grave is not me". He is referring to the point that what you buried in grave is not me, it is my body. Stephen R. Covey says, " We are not physical beings having spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having physical experience". All these words points to the direction that this body bestowed to us by Almighty Allah is a tool to enjoy our existence in the physical world and as long as it is at our service it is a great tool but as soon as we become its slave, destruction is but inevitable! The bottom line, understanding tools and learning to use them effectively help make life a great life!
