Active vs. Passive Learning.?

New This Month on The Living a Life in Full Podcast , Eduardo Brice?o on the Performance Paradox: When Practice Does Not Make Perfect.

Eduardo Brice?o, a global keynote speaker, facilitator, and author who guides many of the world’s leading companies in developing cultures of learning and high performance. He was an early pioneer on growth mindset, since co-founding Mindset Works with Stanford Professor Carol Dweck in 2007, and has championed it ever since. His TED and TEDx talks have been viewed more than nine million times. You can listen to us discuss his book,?The Performance Paradox: Turning the Power of Mindset into Action , which was selected as a “Must-Read” by the Next Big Idea Club and was shortlisted for the Thinkers50 Breakthrough Idea Award and for the BookPal Outstanding Works of Literature (OWL) Awards.

In his book, The Performance Paradox, award-winning author Eduardo Brice?o uncovers the counterintuitive reality that if all we do is perform, our performance suffers. As he points out, many of us get stuck in chronic performance as individuals and as organizations, and as a result, we stagnate.

To drive improvement and innovation, we need to do something other than perform. Rather than stay in what Eduardo calls the Performance Zone, we need to also habituate the Learning Zone, which is when we leap into the unknown. We can do both in learning while doing.
