Tool Palette, Modeling Mode - Unreal Engine 5.3.

This article is a list of the Unreal Engine 5.3 modeling mode tool palette. To learn more about all the available tools, see Modeling Tools.


Tool Palette

The Tool Palette is a panel that consists of all the tools available within a selected category in the user Interface (UI) of Unreal Engine 5.3 Modeling Mode.

To see the Tool Palette Panel, you must first go to modeling mode (SHIFT+5), and then select a tool category within the Tool Cateogry Panel.

Create (Category)

Build new meshes from predefined primitives, paths, or splines.        

CubeGrid

Create block out Meshes using a repositionable grid

Create blockout meshes using a repositionable grid. To learn more about this tool, see the CubeGrid overview.

Draw and extrude 2D Polygons to create new objects

Draw and extrude polygons freehand or from a selection of predefined shapes.

Select (Category)

Edit element selections. Mesh Element Select must be enabled in the Modeling Mode Quick Settings.        

Delete

Delete the current Mesh Selection

Extrude

Extrude the current Mesh Selection

Extrudes geometry from the set of selected faces by moving and stitching them.

Offset

Offset the current Mesh Selection

Offsets geometry from the set of selected faces. Mouse movement controls offset distance. Click in the viewport to complete the offset.

PushPull

Push/Pull the current Selected Faces

Faces can cut away the mesh or bridge mesh parts.

Inset

Inset the current Selected Faces

Insets the current set of selected faces. Mouse movement controls the inset distance. Click in the viewport to complete the inset.

Outset

Ouset the current Selected Faces

Expands the set of selected faces out. Mouse movement controls the outset distance. Click in the viewport to confirm the outset distance.

Cut

Cut the current Selected Faces

Triangulate the spline components of the selected actors to create new meshes.

Bevel

Bevel the current Mesh Selection (Edges or Faces)

Slants the edge loops around the selected faces.

Insert Loop

Insert Edge Loops into the Selected Mesh

Inserts a chain of edges across quads in a mesh. Edges will not be inserted on non-quad faces.

Retriangulate the current Mesh or Mesh Selection

XForm (Category)

Adjust the placement or representation of a mesh.        

Transform

Transform the selected Meshes

Transform different aspects of the selected mesh.

Aling

Aling the selected Objects

Repositions the selected meshes in relation to one another.

Merge

Merge multiple Meshes to create new objects

Combines multiple meshes into one, keeping intersecting geometry.

Duplicate

Duplicate single Meshes to create a new object

Duplicates a single mesh, creating a new actor.

Edit Pivot

Edit the pivot points of the selected Meshes

Edit the pivot point placement on the selected mesh.

Bake Transform

Bake rotation and scale into the selected Meshes

Bakes the scale and rotation values into the mesh. By default scale is uniformly set to 1, while rotation is uniformly set to 0.

Transfer

Copy the first selected Mesh to the second selected Mesh

Transfers the data of one mesh to a target mesh or to a specific LOD used by the target mesh.

Convert

Convert the selected Meshes to a diferrent type of Mesh Object

Change the Output Type of a mesh between a Static Mesh, Dynamic Mesh, or Volume.

Split

Split the selected Meshes into the separate parts based on connectivity
