Tool and Methodology Development for LCA Hardware in the Loop Testing
Meccanica 42
Meccanica 42 reshapes the process of vehicle functions development by providing by-wire devices and real-time rigs
In order to speed up the vehicle development process and to increase the design detail before producing the first physical prototype, virtual methods are increasingly used.
For ADAS systems development, the use of multi-domain simulation environment is advisable since the multidisciplinarity of this subject. So, the use of test benches which integrate virtual development and physical prototypes can provide many benefits in these phases.
This study investigates the development of a test bench and a test scenario for testing LCA systems. Thanks to EPSiL and CamiL, respectively a steering bench able to reproduce forces on the real steering system and a camera in the loop bench, you can implement the entire LCA system on a static simulator and validate it in virtual high-fidelity scenarios that reproduce a real test track.
In this paper, after the description of the testing apparatus construction and calibration, and after the illustration of the scenario creation procedure, many evaluation tests are carried out on the simulator using the same methodologies used when the system is mounted on real vehicles.
The results?
