It took me a while, but I finally decided to create a weekly newsletter to talk about all things translation and marketing.

Every week, I'll walk you into my daily life as a business owner and marketing translator, and we'll cover specific topics that hopefully will offer you insights and sparkle constructive debates.

How everything started

For all of you who don't know me, nice to e-meet you, my name is Virginia!

I'm originally from Italy but I've been living in Madrid, Spain, for the last 11 years.

I first graduated in Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, then I discovered the fascinating world of sales and decided to specialize in Marketing with an MA. And that is when I realized that translation and marketing could be a winning combination.

Since 2016, I help businesses and companies grow and expand into the Italian and Spanish speaking markets (locales It-it and Es-es), and last year, I decided to start creating a pool of linguists to cover other target languages.

Currently, my team and I work with the following languages: English, Italian, Spanish, French, and Catalan (we're about to incorporate Swedish to the list, so I'm going to need native Swedish translators). Is anyone willing to join me?

What does translating marketing actually mean?

Marketing translation consists of adapting marketing material (campaigns, slogans, emails, website copy, etc.) to the market you're trying to reach.

Besides excellent language skills, it requires an advanced marketing knowledge, strong research skills, excellent knowledge of the cultural elements characterizing the target country, and a good dosis of neuromarketing.
